Tiberius looked at the person in front of him, he thought he knew her from Hogwarts but couldn’t quite remember their name. “I’m working to change the laws from within the department, with a five year plan on how to improve the legislation we have set today. Might not be fireworks and spells, but I just don’t run my mouth if I can’t back it up. Tell me, what exactly are you doing to change the views and laws of the magical community?”

It was comforting to hear there was intention behind his words. She’d heard far too many hollow promises. Her entire body relaxed after he spoke. The intensity of her gaze softened and a faint smile pulled up the corners of her lips. “I didn’t mean to snap at you. It’s a sensitive subject for me.” Daisy dropped her gaze to her fingers nervously tangling and untangling themselves. “I think it’s better to change the system from within instead of using violence. I don’t have the skill to effect change in the ministry. I’m settling for doing my best to not die and be a positive energy. I guess snapping at someone is a funny way of going about it. Sorry. I don’t mean to ramble. Old habit when I’m...” she trailed off, not wanting to keep rambling.

     It was nearing midnight and Jago was ready to go home. Most of the late night patrons of The Dusty Moon were finishing up their last rounds or had already left. Jago wiped down a table with quick, rough motions before looking up at a lone figure at the end of the table. Rolling his eyes, he stood up straight, tossing his rag onto his shoulder, “Hey, we’re closing soon, you should get outta here.” he called down, a bit of edge in his voice.

Daisy had ducked into the pub on her way home to avoid the rain. She’d gotten lost and considered apparating, but wasn’t confident with the conditions and how tired she was after work. One drink couldn’t hurt even if she was unfamiliar with the place. She didn’t expect to fall asleep at the table, but there was no way around how exhausted she’d been as of late. His voice brought her back out of her sleep and she gently rubbed her eyes as she looked around the now almost empty building. She thought she recognized him, but his name escaped her. “Sorry,” she muttered, gathering up her bag and preparing to leave.

“You feel like it?” Daisy raised an eyebrow at the choice of words. “It must be nice to be in a position where you can discuss the welfare of others cavalierly like brunch small talk.” It was a personal issue for Daisy and she often found herself quite defensive of the topic even if his intentions were good. “If you truly care you would be doing more to actively promote change rather than running your mouth.”

A keen observer would notice the bounce in step and the minute lip movement signifying a song stuck in the head of the young clerk moving up and down the aisles to stock the shelves. It was less subtle when she twirled around before grabbing hold of the cart handle. The store was practically empty at this late hour that Daisy wasn’t worried about someone spotting her. Surely she would hear the bell above the door if anyone had entered. She was singing softly by the time she entered the next aisle and completely missed the ringing bell. “When I feel you put your arms around me, baby, baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat,” she sang just loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. She was struggling to put a book on a higher shelf. Magic was the obvious choice at this time, but didn’t want to use it when she could do the task without. She pushed herself up on her tiptoes in determination to put the book away without taking out her wand.

He liked Daisy. He didn’t know her too well when they were in school together but admittedly she was a warm welcome anytime he entered Flourish & Blotts. From time to time, they’d have light conversations, ranging from the weather to books and while it might not have meant a lot to the witch, Regulus enjoyed the routine. And for some reason he was more than surprised to find her here, standing in a beautiful light blue dress. She was definitely turning some heads and honestly he couldn’t blame anyone who was staring. As she walked his way, Regulus offered a smile. “Is this your Cinderella dress?”

It had taken some convincing to get Daisy to attend the Ministry gala. She wasn’t fond of large gatherings, but the promise of friends attending and the chance to wear her Wendy Darling dress sealed the deal. She’d purchased the dress some time ago on a whim and had been waiting to wear it. Still she was nervous about the open back. Her style was typically very conservative. She couldn’t help feeling even more nervous with others looking at her. It was a saving grace when she locked eyes with Regulus. She had initially met him in school, but didn’t get to know him until the past year out of school. He was a regular in the book shop and she enjoyed their small talk. “It’s my Wendy Darling dress.” She did a small turn to show it off. “What do you think? Am I ready for Neverland?”

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:

→ Daisy is the only daughter of a halfblood mother, and a muggleborn father. They were middle class and provided her a life of joy and security. They taught her to love through their own relationship, and their kindness to everyone around them. Her dad is a songwriter and she took after him in her love of writing and her talent. However, she writes poetry without the context of music. She followed family tradition at Hogwarts when she was sorted into Hufflepuff. The sorting surprised none as the sorting hat was on her head barely a second before calling out. She again followed in her parents’ footsteps by joining choir, where they met. It was never something she wished to pursue, but a fun hobby to balance with the stresses of school work and life. She is an optimist, an idealist. She believes that everything will ultimately turn out for the best. It is rare to find her in a bad mood. It is not rare to find that she has knocked something over, or is fumbling over words. She is clumsy in both manner and occasionally speech - which has improved as she has come into her own since school. It has lent itself to make her excellent in charms, often needing to clean up messes. She tries to be very organized, but is so easily distracted that she can never quite manage it. 

RANDOM HEADCANONS:

Daisy owns a gray cat named Dorian. He is spoiled by her as she adores him. He has quite the attitude though. Daisy is the only person he likes. He will hiss at other people and shove his way between her and others.

It is almost impossible to see her without her notebook. She takes it everywhere and often writes more than she talks.

Her father taught her how to play guitar and piano. She likes to play in private.

She did ballet from the ages of two to ten. She did well, but much like singing has no plans of pursuing it.

She is afraid of heights. It’s difficult to get her to the ledges in the towers and near impossible to convince her to climb into the stands for quidditch matches. She loves the sky, but has no desire to be any closer to it.

Daisy has been avoiding the war and remaining neutral. She wants nothing to do with the hatred and the fighting. It goes against every fiber of her being. The problem is that it only seems to be getting worse, and being neutral is looking like less of an option.
