Everybody wants to be a Cat (Yoongi Hybrid!Au) Part 1
“This project is worth 75% of your grade this semester and will be performed at our school’s annual winter showcase” Your professor continued what the unknown professor had begun saying, interrupting his rather harsh tone with her gentle, but stern one. “You might still be lost on this, so let me explain further. You’re used to performing at the winter showcase as a class, but never as individuals. You have performed with classic and widely known songs in the background. Well, that’s all going to change this year. We have divided you into groups of two, three or four. As a group, you will be producing a song and choreographing a song to coordinate with it. You will have to work as a team and that’s what we want to see. Come up when we call your name”
Ten minutes later you walk to the front of the class to receive the overview of the project from your professor and to meet your partner. “Now, since you and Jimin are my top students, you both are the only students in groups of two. Professor Choi has picked his top two students to be paired with both of you” Your partner, Min Yoongi, reaches the three of you, having been in the back of the room initially and takes the overview out of his professor’s hand. Before you can turn to introduce yourself, he was already walking back to his original spot beside his friend, who coincidentally was Jimin’s partner for the project. “He tends to keep to himself, don’t take it too personally” Professor Choi tells you and you force a smile on your face and nod. You don’t do well with impolite people, you’re far too prideful.
You thank the professors and return to Jimin, who stood with his partner and yours. “I just don’t get why we got stuck with the juniors instead of the seniors. We’re finishing our master’s degree this year, I don’t want to work with these kids” Your enhanced hearing picked up on your partner’s complaints quite easily and Jimin looked very uncomfortable. You place a hand on top of his when you see it reach out to twist his tail, a nervous habit of his. “Don’t be disrespectful” You bite out, gaining his attention. Jimin’s partner mouth closed, probably in the process of adding onto Yoongi’s statement. His eyes screamed boredom as they met yours and his eyebrow raises. “I don’t take orders from juniors” You chuckle and hoist your bag up higher on your shoulder, you scalp beginning to burn as you fought back the urge to let your ears pop out.
“We may be juniors, but you both can consider yourselves lucky you got paired up with us. Call us kids all you want, but the only one being childish here is you” Yoongi steps closer and stares down at you, his canines sharp and intimidating as he smirks. “Look’s like the kitty’s got claws. How adorable” His tongue runs over one of his canines briefly before he shoves a piece of paper in your hand and walks out the hall. You glance down and see it’s his number scrawled messily, as if he didn’t care whether or not you could read it. “I’m really sorry about him, he doesn’t do well around new people. He never stayed around for the rest of the showcases, so he doesn’t know how talented you two are. I’m very happy we got to work with you, he will be, too, once he realizes how much talent you have. I have to go, but I’ll see you around” Jimin’s partner bows briefly and exits the hall as well.
