“Yeah I plan on going home for break too. I miss it a lot. I get that though, there’s little that tops mom’s food.” 

“I think I would do anything for my moms cooking at this point. I’m tired of food from the cafe and take out all the time.“

“It’s only six Monday’s before Christmas, isn’t that insane? The year went by so fast.” He wasn’t counting down the days or anything, he had just happened to stumble upon that information, he had seen it online, somewhere. “Did you buy anything cool?”

Poppy thought about it for a moment about how many Mondays there were until Christmas and he was absolutely right. “Oh my God, do you have a calendar counting down the days? That’s amazing.“ She giggled before looking down at the bags upon bags she got. “Well I got this giant Micky Mouse stalking that’s almost the size of a child, lights, a mat to go by my bed, a small Christmas tree, a Micky Mouse Christmas throw pillow including blankets and a stuffed Marie from the Aristocats wearing a Christmas bow and a beret.”

“It just sucks to be so far away from our families. Especially for the holidays.”

“That’s why as soon as we go on brake I’m going back to New Orleans. I’m not going to miss my moms cooking for anything.“

“I thought America went all out for Christmas but the UK really blows us out of the water.“ Poppy had came back from the store with arms full of Christmas decor there was just so much she couldn’t say no to all of it. Christmas has always been her families favorite holiday and even though they weren’t at school with her she still wanted to decorate a bit or maybe a little more then a bit.

“So from a purely aesthetic point, new Foxcroft looks amazing. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t catch on fire too.” 

“Here’s to hoping!“ Poppy cheered, she had to agree with the other girl this new building seemed way more updated then the old walls they used to live in.

“Pardon, would you be interested in helping our environm-” Harper held out flyers in one hand and a sheet with hardly any signatures in the other as she tried her best to get students to try and care about helping out the earth. She let out a sigh but wasn’t one to give up as she put on her winning smile and approached another student. “Could I take a wee bit of time out of your day to sign this petition that’ll help clean up the waters around here for the wildlife? It’ll only take a few seconds I swear by it.”

Poppy was on her way back to her room when she heard someone speak she turned to the other girl and smiled. “Yeah I wouldn’t mind. Gotta help the planet right?” She mused taking the petition and signing her name.

“I completely agree.” Zach smiled, his hands resting comfortably on her waist. They had a lot of fun together this summer and when it was just the two of them she could make him forget how guilty he felt about it all. 

Poppy kissed him for a moment longer before pulling away her fingertips tracing the outline of his jaw her eyes gazing up at him in admiration. “You’re so amazing.“ She said softly remembering their summer it was definitely the best months of her life.

Zach stood in the doorway, biting back a laugh at how adorable Poppy was acting while she was on her laptop. She looked so cute when she was focused like that. She was actually singing NSYNC now. In 2018. Sweet babies? So cute. He walked over to her, looking over her shoulder and pressing a kiss onto her cheek.  “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to disturb you.” 

Poppy smiled brightly when he placed a kiss on her cheek, it calmed her down in a way only he could. The feeling of his lips or his touch on her skin always made her feel like she couldn’t stop smiling, it always reassured her about how much he mattered to her. “It’s fine.“ She spoke softly rubbing her nose against his before he pulled away. “You visiting me?”

Axl was walking over when the girl jumped in her seat. He hadn’t expected to scare her. “Wow, there goes my self-esteem. Am I really that scary looking?” He asked with serious concern on his face.

“N-n-no no I didn’t mean it like that!“ Poppy face turned a bright shade of red as she covered her face. This is why she didn’t have many friends. The small girl gave him a smile as she looked up at him. “I’m sorry.“

Poppy had her headphone in at full blast fully unaware that someone else was in the room with her. Since she was too busy on her laptop trying to finish a paper that was already due at midnight. “EVERY LITTLE THING I DO NEVER SEEMS ENOUGH FOR YOU!“ The bruntte sang loudly as she typed almost finishing her paper until she finally felt eyes on her. Looking back she saw someone and jumped in her seat. “Sweet babies, you scared me!” She mused putting her hand over her heart.
