On a serious note, I do want to talk about Adam. Birthdays mean a lot to me and I'm an incredibly sentimental person as it is, so I'm thinking about him even more than usual. I genuinely think about him every day of my life and I wish things could have been better for him
This time last year, I was his age. I think a lot about how he'll forever be younger than me. Soon I'll be 2 years older than him. And it was so long ago that he had turned 20 in the first place
I wish he could know how many people on here seem to understand him. None of us can have his exact brain and we may have some differing opinions, but I've seen so many people hear him out, understand where he's coming from, and even relate to most sentiments he expressed. I wish he could've had that support
I don't truly believe in any particular afterlife, but I always hope that there's at least some level of consciousness so he can experience peace. His life was marked with so much struggle, even as a small child. No one deserves that. Similarly, I don't practice any type of religion, but I like lighting candles, leaving flowers, and taking time to think about him. I like to think that, if there is any form of afterlife, those thoughts and actions can reach him in some way. And if not, it's just a nice thing to do
