It makes me laugh that Carina said it was an easy day for Nathan when they filmed the death scene while Jeanine said Nathan hated it.
Very astute. I assume you’re talking about Carina’s quotes that can be found here. I think we can chalk that up to a few things:
He was probably not complaining to/confiding in Carina because he didn’t want to make it about him while Jeanine was doing the heavy lifting, so Carina probably didn’t know how it affected him
Carina was joking because most people would think that laying down playing dead would be an easy day on the job
If Carina was aware that he hated it, and why, that’s not really her story to share since it sort of illuminates the real life relationship between the actors
‘Cause the way Jeanine and Nathan tell it, even though it’s all pretend, he hated it because it was upsetting for him to watch her in that level of distress and not be able to do anything about it.
Nathan: That part wasn’t fun.
Jeanine: I mean I didn’t enjoy it either.
Nathan: Yeah. It’s hard because we had pretty much every scene together by the end of the season and became so interwoven in how we worked, and then to just lay there and have someone screaming and wailing on you that you’ve become close with, your instinct is to go like, “No, it’s okay! It’s not real.” It’s hard.
Jeanine: Yeah, it was really sweet, in between takes, he would put his hand on my back.
Nathan: Like, “It’s okay.”
Jeanine: While I’m (mimics crying).
Nathan: It was hard, but the scenes turned out beautifully.
