Gave Annabelle the inspiration pic on left and she created her own idea with similar materials used for her school assignment.
Marshemello Towers, guided by JHCM
Rainforest diorama and animals. Tori made snake, caterpillar, turtle, agouti, peccary, blue Koro Ho butterfly. Diorama by Annabelle.
Books:
Rainforest Romp, The Umbrella, Payagayo, Rainforest grew all around, Magic School Bus: Cacoa tree.
Inspired by the book series Big Boy and our BC Native American talking stick from Nass River valley, Jon is making his own totem pole. His spirit animals that he would like to shape shift into are polar bear, bald eagle and dragon. These are what he will carve into this totem. #inspired #findyourspirit
Cloud in a jar. Too amazing for so easy! The cloud fully swirls! Great demo!!
Quick Mom project. Explained three things- evaporation, condensation, precipitation.
Rainforest terrarium creation- pebbles, pistachio shells, dirt, worms, moss, small plants, bark, and sticks. Excited to try an 3-part Eco column, but can’t quite get the kids attention span for this or the knowledge yet. But soon!
Growing Down by Shel Silverstein
Jon shared this poem with me last night before bed. “Moms its longest poem”. He had me reread several versus comparing to himself and life. I truly enjoyed this request of his and it has made me think about this so much of recent.

#2 Color & Form: Grade 3-5
We can create interesting and colorful sculptures using only paper and glue. Here are two artists who use form and color in really exciting ways.
Watch: Color and Form with Ciaozza and Ugo Rondinone https://youtu.be/shJ4izv8ajo
Do: Get some colored paper, glue, and scissors. If you don’t have colored paper, use magazine scraps or paint/color some white paper.
Younger students can… roll and crumple papers and glue them down to create a sculpture. Add beads, found objects, toilet paper rolls…
Yeast arrived!!!! The stores had been empty for a month...and finally...Yeast!
So...today...We mixed up some yeast with sugar and warm water for some experiments and instead of blowing up balloons, we used fermentation to blow up plastic gloves! How timely!
This blog helped inspire me...

Check out our 3 hands-on yeast experiments today, grab a few supplies from the store, and make your own pizza from scratch with the kiddos f
Kids loved to play with dough! And gloves and the curious George book was good for Tori while I got ingredients.
We made
1. Naan bread for dinner tonight (awesome Jalfrezi curry dinner with red lentil butternut squash Dahl)
2. No knead bread recipe from Marla and Jenn in 2010 (rise overnight, bake in morning in Dutch oven tomo for fresh bread at lunch)
3. Pizza dough balls, 6 of them for the next few weeks (i used a high altitude recipe)
We’re missing the steamboat cardboard classic, cause #covid19, so making our own race! Taped and Decorated cardboard sleds all day, and raced them this afternoon.
Annabelle for Flip It class video “Hi I do not have a pet but I have a weasel living in my backyard his name is fluffy he he’s three years old he likes my mom‘s garden because he eats everything she grows their fun facts about him is he likes living under my deck he eats all my mom’s vegetables which I think of food for him or he’s a predator”
Keep them inspired; channel work toward their interests.

Cosmic yoga!!
Mom loves cosmic yoga the most, such a great way to stretch, relax, move, be together, all ages. Especially loved the Star Wars episode, but they’re all good.

In this Mystery, students develop a model of the earth’s surface and use it to discover an important principle about how rivers work.
“Jon, do you think Tori is learning good things from you?”
“Yes, because I’m the most epic thing ever.” 😂
Jon Mckenzie age 6.5
After Jon taught Victoria (age 20mos) to bump into walls and pretend to fall over and then laugh hysterically at each other.
