“The time is NOW! Inter- Cultural Dialogue as a Tool for New Leaders” was one of the best projects our organisation recently. There were 48 participants from 6 different countries- Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece and North Macedonia. All together from 25th of April to 3rd of May in Marmaris, Turkey we had the opportunity to work on the development of new set of tools and skills related to leadership. The participants were involved in the creation of a warm and safe environment, beneficial for the improvement of their qualities as leaders. They had the chance to put in practice all the learned theory by different non- formal methods of education such as forum theatre, Spider Web, Evolution of Dances and etc. The participants built a very productive and efficient for their development environment and became a nuclear family. All together they managed to improve themselves and become better leaders. They had also the rare opportunity to attend to a professional lecture, structured in a non- formal way. A professor from the Mugla Sitki Koçman University did an excellent speech about the leadership, how to build a sustainable and strong bond between a team and a leader, the differences between a boss and a leader etc. He was a very inspiring example for all of us. The project “The time is NOW! Inter- Cultural Dialogue as a Tool for New Leaders” was a motivation and a great opportunity to benefit from. We had an amazing week in Turkey, full of tons of emotions and unforgettable lessons for our development in the future, not only as leaders but also as better personalities, helping and inspiring those surrounding us. We are very grateful to the project team for providing us the chance that we needed to continue to improve the quality of our service to the society!
Our organisation had the great opportunity to be part of one of our Swedish partner’s “ProQvi” project, called “Distant voices”. The project had a duration from 15th to 24th of April in Svalöv, cold but beautiful Sweden. In the activity participated 40 people with different backgrounds from 5 countries- Bulgaria, Sweden, Romania, Portugal and Turkey. The youth exchange had the main aim to provide the participants with practical and theoretical knowledge about coming up with solutions for the issues that the youngsters face in the rural areas. The participants discussed the serious economic and geographic difficulties. The project started with various interactive activities and team- building games, in order to creat a safe and friendly environment for the participants. The youth exchange continued with presentations about the situation of the development of the rural areas and this was the meeting point where the nationalities found their common grounds such as transportation, lack of good electricity service, medical care etc. All of these obstacles prevent the development of the future generations located in these areas. Another good practice during the exchange was the intercultural nights and “Back to memories” game, both of which helped incredibly for the cutting down the distance of the “Distant voices”. We had the task to wander around the place and find different objects and places that reminded us of a certain memory of our past and figure out if it matched somebody else’s. We also had a chance to meet with people from Sweden that were facing those kinds of difficulties every day. We were able to get closer to the challenges the people from the village were facing and trying to overcome constantly. The project was a truly good practice for our participants by any means. They got more acknowledged in the problems and issues that youngsters face in the rural areas they live in. They are very satisfied with the outcomes after the project and they are really motivated and inspired to work in this field. They have a huge concern now for the improvement of the rural areas. They are very grateful for the opportunity they were given in the amazing project “Distant voices”.
Hey, folks! Hereby we add our brand new book with good practices and thrilling moments of our project. Please, enjoy! 😀
If you haven’t already met her, prepare yourself to be amazed. Our “Book of the Month” from our September publication is the stunning 61 year old, Poppy Rose.
Alongside a dedicated every day life to campaign against inequality, being a poet, actor and a model, Poppy has been a bestseller at the Human Library for about 10 years. When asked about her reasons to become a book in the first place and why she is still active, Poppy stresses that she still haven’t won the battle against social bigotry and hate.
Ninety-nine percent of hate is fueled by the unknown. For Poppy, the most important reason to be a part of the Human Library, book or a reader, is because of its unique way of creating a deeper understanding between people: “Only by opening your life up in the way Human Library does, you can expect to educate and change people’s attitudes to something that is ingrained in us all.”
To her, it is really true that if people continue to avoid conversation with the unknown, the hate among us will still continue: “Hate is a self-fulfilling prophecy, because the less you know, the more you do not understand, and ninety-nine percent of hate is fueled by the unknown, which in turn widens the gap between two people and narrows down the chances of dialogue.” ~ Human Library

El poder de las palabras- Storytelling in Barcelona The first day of El poder de las palabras- Storytelling in Barcelona, from 06 to 14 February, started with brief introduction of the project and objectives, the methods that will be used during it, timetable and results expected. It was also dedicated by gathering and getting to know each other, with interactive games and ice breakers. It was a greatful opening for the participants by sharing their expectations, fears of what is coming up and using this youth exchange as an opportunity for creating friendships that will last forever. Later on, we had a chance to work in teams, explore the city of Barcelona, meet the culture and people living around. As an team building activity, we had a chance to meet each person better, capability of expressing own opinions. At the end of the day, we were devided in different groups in order to evaluate the day by answering questions of what could be better and what we have learned. And to end up this day in a right way, we used the night with passion game. And the end of this youth exchange was a big team building activity for all of us. We got to know the key competences facing the Erasmus + program, so we were able to work on the dissemination of this project. We could see and go through the previous activities, findinf out ways how to continue sharing the workshops that we used, evaluate our overall work, the social inclusion and help to each other. As every day has an end, as every story has an end, this project finished here in Barcelona but not our friendship. Now we are wealthy with new friends, knowledge, experience and ready to crush this world. Ready to continue our life but not to forget what we had, what we were doing, what we learnt. To apply the impact and follow up our ideas and use our virtue. We are happy that we had an opportunity like this, thankfully and grateful to be part of this Erasmus program. Changing lives, opening minds... On 23.01.2019 a Living Library Event took place in Pleven, Bulgaria in the Regional Library "Hr. Smirnenski". There were 5 living books that highschool students could "take and read" in order to advance in their responses against aggression, social exclusion, hate speech etc. The event included a theatre play as well. The play was very clear and understandable for the audience. For what is worth it, it was an amazing day full of great emotions, lots of important and educative lessons!

The main competences people who take part in Erasmus+ projects are able to gain. One of the most important knowledge!
Living Library Event
During the coldest month of the year, on 23.01.19. from 13.30, students from two Pleven high schools - PGPCHE - Pleven and DFSG "Intellect" organize an event - Living library with the invaluable support of the Hristo Smirnenski Regional Library - Pleven with the undisputed support of the Sdruzhenie "ObzorArt".
Every day, many students become both victims and eyewitnesses of aggressive behavior at their school. This also becomes the spark of the idea that young people are opposed to social phenomena from aggression such as social exclusion, hate speech, discrimination, and so on. "Living Library" is an initiative that offers new methods and tools in the fight against bullying in the school environment. It is like any other library with shelves, books and a reading room, but what distinguishes it from them is the fact that the books are not printed on paper but are real human beings. Each book is ready to share its incredible story of the aggression world. The "living" library will have a catalog of available books that everyone can choose by launching a journey through the edges of their book. The monologue between a reader and a book changes its dimensions and becomes a lively dialogue. The listener is encouraged to explore stories, to ask exciting questions, and to get answers where he could not find elsewhere. It gives the opportunity to experience an adventure designed to change people's attitudes towards the different, outdated, discriminated, excluded.
"Living library" is an event that gives the chance to the victims of school aggression to be heard, to overcome all those stereotypes and prejudices, encouraging the formation of a more inclusive society to the different in each individual.
