Something For The Weekend? Lost In La Mancha… What could possibly go wrong? The image of what looks like camera cases floating down the flash flood torrents will stay with me forever. Lost In La Mancha is an extraordinary documentary that was allowed to be made by Terry Gilliam – and all power to him as it’s an authentic and unbelievably candid glimpse into a massive vision in collapse. Must watch for all filmmakers.

Hearts of Darkness - A Filmmaker's Apocalypse Like no other, this documentary captures the experience of shooting a movie on location – the madness, the logistics, the exhaustion, the uncontrollable environment, the detachment from reality… Of course I would never compare my first film ‘The Runner’ to Coppolas’ masterpiece, but the experience of making that film REALLY resonates with me when watching this doc, and on so many levels. It’s the whole idea of being out there, in an uncontrolled environment, with too much kit, too little experience and massive ambition… I only wish we had made a documentary about making ‘The Runner’ back then (although it did form the backbone of the very first Guerilla Filmmakers Handbook – HERE) Anyhow, enjoy, it’s a stunning document.
