I am Bubby Bronsen, born on April 16th, 1727 in Philadelphia. My parents moved here in 1700  from Boston. I graduated from the Academy that Benjamin Franklin established. I am married and have two sons. I regularly volunteer at the Fire Company and work as a Ship Builder.

This is my favorite photograph from arriving to this colony. My friends and I looking out at this unknown place we were about to call home, whether we liked it or not. Some worried, scared, and even excited. 

There I was, on a boat to somewhere I didn’t know. All I knew is I wanted to do something with my life with new opportunities, help people, help my family. Days later I arrived to the New Netherlands or New Amsterdam as others called it, which is now called the New York Colony. You see, my name is Richard Currey and I am Dutch, as well as one of the first immigrants to arrive in the colony of New York. A lot of people that are Dutch and from the Netherlands were the first people here. We started the population in this colony, without even knowing it. This colony was founded not long ago in 1626 by some guy named Peter Minuit (Duke of York), whom I don’t personally know. The Duke of York also granted some land much after, which was later known as New Jersey. I’ve never been to New Jersey, but I always wanted to visit. I wondered if it would be anything like New York and its people. Although New York did not just have one founder, but Minuit was the first. The major towns that we knew about were New York City and Albany. I didn’t quite know much other than that right when I came. But that’s how it all started and it’s been crazy ever since. Somewhere in the year 1607

This ship is filled with more scents of sweat and species of filth I have never crossed before! Imagine sitting in the midst of thousands of people all crammed in one ship going to one destination. The amount of intensity and excitement is equivalent to the amount of stink and sweat that encompasses this ship. I still cannot believe that we are in route to new land, to new something! My colonists and I are tired from the small rations of food and no space. But in return, I hope to discover a new adventure, a new place to explore! 

The ride there was quite a ride! It was bumpy, it was rough, but most importantly, it was going to take us somewhere. All these people in that boat were anxious to see the new sight that awaits them. Just the smell and the hot air made you want to leave that ship immediately, but in the end, we all knew we had to push through in order to see what was to come. The mosquitoes, the diseases, the amount of hunger that ringed in our stomachs, was too much for someone that couldn’t survive tight spaces. The ride was rough, but the outcome was better. Within long periods of time, we have made it to a new adventure, JAMESTOWN!

Ugh just sounds horrible. I feel for you Eliza, sitting with that many people in those harsh conditions, I would just jump overboard #icouldswim. But Jamestown is quite the place to visit, the capital of Virginia, where everything started. You were part of the legacy! I hope I can take some advice from you if I ever visit. Life

*Present day June 8 1692 Age: 62* I have arrived in New Hampshire. Things are tough for me as I am an old man who is looking for company in New Hampshire. I am living life as an ordinary shipbuilder. I teach young children on the side because I have an education from Harvard. I do not see myself alive in the next 10-12 years. I have my pet Pikachu and he is my only true companion. Shipbuilding is not bad but it does put my intellectual abilities to waste. It is better than farming, but what choice do I have? I may migrate elsewhere but for now I am in New Hampshire. Although, I may go to Connecticut and try out the famous nutmeg. I hear that the Salem Witch Trials are over but I still cannot go back. I hope to teach the young children of New Hampshire a path to success. This is all that really remains in my life, my broken down life. Looks like I may have to change my tumblr bio.

Sunday, April 16th, 1757 

Today was very a special day in three ways. First it was my birthday #turnup, second it was my 8th anniversary of marriage, and finally the day I was going make a milestone in my career of doing something else besides Shipbuilding. 

I went to work, and I told my boss I was going to resign peacefully, he didn't ask why I was going to resign because so many people wanted the job and its not like he needed an extra person. Right after I left the shipyard, I had to meet Ben by a building he owned near the Academy, he had just recently purchased it #HouseHunters.

He wished me a Happy Birthday when I arrived, he told me this is the new company we are starting, it was a printing press. I was very happy and I couldn't wait to make a lot of money #I'mGonnaGetMoneyLikeThat. He told me to read his advice in the Way of Wealth. I was going to be the main guy taking care of the business and he was just going to help out a little bit, he was too busy helping America during the Revolution. 

After he explained everything about the business to me, I headed home, to tell my family the wonderful news. #BubbyBellaBillBob

Friday, April 14th, 1757, Evening

After work, I came home to my beautiful family and had some delicious dinner. My two sons Bill and Bob were talking to themselves about the games they played with their friends, and my wife and I were discussing the manner of the job. She introduced the topic of buying land for a farm because a large amount of land was achieved from the Lenape Indians. However, I disagreed with her because the climate of the middle colonies was very harsh, and there wouldn't be as large of an influx of money all year around. #CropsWillMakeOurMoneyDrop

I introduced the topic of Ben trying to start a new company with my help, just to help me out in the long term. And we both knew, Ben was a successful man who had helped make Philadelphia what it is #KingOfPhilly. He didn't tell me the full details of what was about to go down, but I knew it was going to be good. #0-100RealQuick 

After dinner I decided to go to a tavern nearby to have a drink with a couple of lads from work. As we drank we talked about the Shipbuilding job, and although it was the main industry in Philadelphia, I felt like I could get more, working not as hard. #HelpBubby

Friday, April 14th, 1757 Morning

I was on my way to work as usual, and I was just thinking about the stories my father was telling me when I was younger. He told me about when he and my grandparents first came here in Philadelphia. Philadelphia was only filled with Quakers, and it wasn't as diverse as it is now. The leader of the Quakers was William Penn. Religion was the reason why they came here, everyone was religious and still is, my family and I still go to church every Sunday Morning. #SundayFunday

It was pretty cool when my father told me those stories, he said one story to me as he tucked me into bed everyday. Ah, I miss those days, they were just perfect, now I barely have energy to do anything after the tiring day at work. I was a little early to work, so I stopped by at the Fire Company to help out a bit. #FireCompaniesAreCool

Tuesday April 11th, 1757 Evening 

After work, I stopped by at the new Fire Company Ben was establishing, I wanted to speak to him about the job offer he made to me, but he wasn't there #SOOOOOLame. I assumed he would be at the Academy trying to perform his Kite Experiment or something like that. 

Once I got there, I spoke to him about how work as a shipbuilder was getting very tiring and very hard. Ben started talking to me about the Way of Wealth. He told me that making money wasn't going to be easy and it wouldn't just be a walk in the park. He said that the job offer is not available anymore, but he told me that he could help me start my own company.

Tuesday April 11th, 1757 Morning

Today I woke up at around 7:00 AM because I had to be at the Shipyard by around 8:00. I got up, got ready, and ate Corn Mush that my wife had made, it was on point, the best I’ve had in a while. My kids were sleeping so I just kissed them and left to go to work. 

On my way to work I was just thinking about the dream I had the night before, and I was just wondering why I work so hard as a Shipbuilder, I mean a graduated from one of the best schools, and I was offered a job as a teacher from Mr. Franklin #genius. Maybe I should I consider taking this job, I mean I already have a part time job at the Public Library, I should talk to my friend Ben.
