Elvis: Ok. I'm gonna put my right foot on the table, and make it seem like I'm tying my shoe. Then I want you to say "Elvis," and I'll look up, and that's when you take the picture. Ya got it? And make sure you take it at the right angle, so as to make me look good. And do it right the first time. It's the 50's and we don't have the luxury of multi-shot yet. I ain't got that kinda money yet. Right now, I only got cool shoes money. But time will tell on THAT bitch.
Hello again, miss Elizabeth!! I have another question for you!
How did you know that Elvis was the one you wanted to spend forever with?
I hope you’ve enjoyed answering my questions so far!
Ms. LaVon! I'm so glad that you are enjoying this interview just as much as I am! That makes me so very happy!
Now, I've never actually been asked this question during any interview before, not even at the press conference that was held after our honeymoon. Forgive me for the slight blush.
Now, to give you the answer that first popped into my head; I don't know that I ever really thought about not being able to spend forever with Elvis, ya know? He was my best friend. He was always sweet and funny in high school (and throughout our life together). Elvis was also a worrier. He was always worried about me walking home alone from my afternoon job or from school. That man was always scarring away every other boy who asked me for a date, or my help with their homework, or my hand for a dance at school. Always claiming that I would end up getting hurt by every single one of those other boys.
I think I first started to realize that I fancied Elvis, when he asked me to the Winter Formal of his senior year and my junior year of high school. When he first asked me, he was trembling so bad that I asked him if I should walk him down to the nurse's office to call home sick. He was stubborn about it, saying " 'm a'right, Lizzie. I ain't sick or nothing." I shrugged and had him sit down, at least. It was only once we were both sitting down, that he softly asked if he could hold my hand. Elvis was always polite like that. Mrs. Presley certainly raised a fine Southern Gentleman, that's for sure. After I gave him my hand, Elvis finally asked me if I would attend Humes' Winter Formal with him. I remember that he was very soft spoken, and his hand was still trembling slightly, when he asked me. Of course, I accepted his invitation to the dance.
I definitely think that's when I first realized that I wanted to spend forever with Elvis, and not just as his best friend.
Ms. LaVon, I have truly enjoyed these wonderful interview questions so far. I simply can't wait to see what the next question is!
The last time I mentioned anything about followers, I had maybe 20, so it was easier to see who's following me, so I can follow back.
I have a few more now so I may be missing some follow backs. So just let me know if I left you hangin'. Let's be friends. Elvis fans are literally the best people on Earth 🧡🧡
Thank you for answering my question. Here’s another for you. You stated that you and Elvis had six children, three boys and three girls. What made you and Elvis decide to have a big family? Also, what did you decide to name each of the children?
Ms. LaVon! Happy Valentine's Day, Sweet Thing!
Yes, we did have a rather large family, didn't we. I suppose that having 6 children wasn't actually discussed between us. We both wanted to be parents, that was discussed, but I don't think we ever talked about how many kids we wanted. Like I mentioned in the prior post, after our miscarriage in 1976, we took certain measures to ensure that we wouldn't have to go through that pain and heartache again. But, to answer your question, I think we both secretly wanted a big family because neither of us grew up surrounded by other siblings or cousins or family members. I mean, the Memphis Mafia was more of a "found family". Those men were more than friends to Elvis, myself and our children. They became brothers to my husband and I, and uncles to our children.
Now, our 6 children... Here they are in order:
Kendra Gladys Grace Presley, born in December of 1960
Samuel Jones Presley, born in March of 1963
Maria Allison Joy Presley, born in February of 1967
Jacob Garon Presley, born in July of 1968
Elvis Aron Junior Presley, born in August of 1970
Ashley Rachel Love Presley, born in January of 1973
Thank you so much for this interview question, Ms. LaVon! 'm truly excited for your next question!
Hello! I’m Kendra! My question is can you please introduce yourself? Tell us a few details about yourself.
Hello Ms. LaVon! Thank you so much for interviewing me! I'm absolutely positive that I will love this interview!
This is such a fun question to answer! My full name is Elizabeth Rose Presley. At this time, I am currently 25 years old. I was born in Abilene, Texas in 1936. Yes, that math doesn't add up, but I am telling about my life from the past. In early 1950, I moved to Memphis, Tennesse when my Daddy's job required him to move. So, all three of us; Mama, Daddy and I, moved to Memphis. There, I started high school at Humes High School. I was a smart gal, straight A's, and all that.
Presley is my last name. Yes, I'm related to THE Elvis Presley. I met him in high school. Super shy, incredibly sweet, but not too good at math, so I was his tutor. He was a year older than me, but we were very close throughout all of high school.
In 1955, a year after I graduated high school, Elvis asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said yes. We were happy together. We had a total of 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. There was one miscarriage, and that's when we decided that we were done having kids.
Ms. LaVon, that is the short version. I have truly enjoyed answering this first question! I can't wait to answer more from you! Thank you so much!
