my sis made me an advent calendar an one door gave me a round d6.
it's a fecking sphere, but works like a d6. then i had some thoughts. what if this wasn't a d6, but a d(however many sides a sphere has)
so i did the math.
a circle is 360 degrees. let's say each degree is a side. a sphere is 360 circles mashed together forcibly, which means there are 360 times 360 sides in this die if my math is correct.
so i do the math, and by math i mean i square 360. and we get 129600 sides.
so now my little d6 was upgraded to a d129600. does it have any practical usage as one? maybe.
first, we divide 129600 into six parts, which gives us six chunks that individually are valued at 21600. the first chunk is from 1 to 21600, second is 21601 to 43200, third is 43201 to 64800 and so on.
whichever eye of the d129600 is on top determines which chunk of the total number of sides we have. let's say we roll a 3. next, let's put the range of the chunk in a random number selector like random.org
and we get.. number!
how is this useful, you may ask. and the answer is.. ah don't know.
maybe in a ttrpg trying to make gambling hell for everyone by requiring a certain kind of number to win. maybe you can add every digit up into one number and make it the healing effect of the liquid from some sort of luck based orb which tells the future. you can do anything with this. hell, start playing monopoly with d129600's now. or dSpheres. easier to type an remember. fucking speedrun boardgames. clip through your actual floor and find an underground civilization and then introduce them to dSpheres.
