Sweet Kai, who is due for another coating of zinc oxide on his ears. They seem to be looking better now, though! I’ll continue treatment to see if it helps.

I’m thinking that it would be best to take Kai and Nimbus into the vet to have their fighting teeth trimmed down… I’ve never had any problems on our farm with fighting teeth injuries, but I’m a big fan of being proactive and I can nail two birds with one stone and get Kai’s ears looked at again at the same time so…. Maybe.

Kai is not very happy about the rain.

(The backs of his ears appear to be losing hair, but the skin still feels soft and smooth, no scabs or bumps, and they aren’t sensitive to the touch. He isn’t losing hair on his nose or feet, either… I don’t think it’s mites, but I would like to go ahead and treat his skin with nustock and get him started on some Vit D and zinc as he is a dark skinned llama, perhaps it will help. i’ll also get him in for a skin scrape sample if he doesn’t improve soon.)
