Hello. sorry for the inactivity. I realise I kind of dropped off the face of tumblr for a good while, and it didn't help I couldn't log in either. But I'm back for however long and will find some more content to write about. If anyone has any interesting things to tell me that I might have missed, let me know!

I agree with this, I also want to add on just to say that I really doubt there were any pictures of Sasuke at any point in time other than this considering:

1. He was a stoic person anyway and isnt the type of character to actively enjoy photos

2. He wasn’t around for most of Naruto Shippuden/his teen years for him to have his photo taken and this is the only one of him

3. He was away for years after Sarada’s birth so there wasn’t any chance there to take a photo there either

And so that is why they got a family photo done after the Shin arc. If these antis actually thought about it for two seconds they would see it makes sense? But nah, you carry on hating on this family with any excuse you can muster.

SasuSaku - The Swordsman and The City Girl - AU

(This has sat in the drafts for ages ;-; if it gets good reception I’ll continue it!!)

Konoha was in the midst of its dry season. The middle of fall was approaching, but that didn’t stop the bustle of the Village streets. Sakura was sat leaning over a table towards Ino in a small tea shop, one leg sat over the other. Her chin dipped comfortably on the support of her closed hands, holding up her head on the table.

Ino was rambling on about a difficult customer she’d had in the shop earlier that day, and Sakura was zoning in on her wobbling reflection in the steaming teacup in front of her. Ino paused mid sentence, rolling her eyes.

“Oi, Sakura!” The Cherry Blossom girl snapped from her daze.

“Eh?!” The teacup had spun on it’s axis and nearly doused the table before she caught it. “S-sorry, Ino..” 

“You will be if you keep spacing out on me! Honestly what’s gotten into you lately! You’re so out of it!” 

“I-I don’t really know.” Her stare had moved away from Ino’s frustrated face, as she feigned her cluelessness. 

“Hmm?” Ino sat her chin in her hand and tilted her head towards her friend with a smirk. “I think I do.”

“W-What do you mean?!”

Ino’s smirk dropped, and pointed to the red cloth bandaged around her wrist. Sakura clocked and held onto it with the same dazed look Ino had seen moments before.

“You can’t stop thinking about him, can you?”

Her grip tightened on her wrist. “When you meet someone shrouded in mystery, you can’t help but think about what sort of person they are.”

When Sasuke first leaves the village -  Analysis

I don’t believe for one minute that Sasuke never had nothing more than platonic care towards Sakura even back in their Genin days. Of course, there was the teammate relationship they had towards each other, but I do strongly believe there was more to Sasuke’s feelings than meets the eye. 

As we all know, he has a very private personality. But when it came to Sakura, the stoic character would crack ever so slightly.

Right before he left the village, Sasuke knocked Sakura out because he knew she would follow him. Because he recognised her love for him. He told her ‘I’m walking a path the two of you (Naruto and Sakura) can’t follow.’

He always knew how she felt about him, she was never subtle. But just because he didn’t reciprocate didn’t mean he never had feelings.

The whole time Sakura was talking him through all they had been together to convince him not to leave, he waited and he listened. Because he never had any spiteful intentions towards her, because he genuinely believed what he was doing was right. 

He also said, ‘For a time, I felt like I could be a part of it (the team).’ He cared deeply about both Naruto (Platonically) and Sakura (Platonically and romantically), but I feel that it gets lost in how Sasuke acted externally, and people’s defining opinions of him that he never cared as much due to his colder exterior.

But his colder exterior was a product of trauma and pushing people away so as not to get hurt by his actions, which shows that his intentions were good in the name of revenge/honour/restoration to some degree, but these things wouldn’t happen without someone/something getting hurt.

I think this is probably why he saw Team Taka as expendable to an extent. He never showed the same level of care as much as Team 7, considering Team 7 had, for a time, become his family, and he knew he couldn’t ever replace that.

Thoughts on the Blank Period:

I definitely feel like Sasuke and Sakura's unbreakable emotional connection and strong bond is to do with the time they spent together in BP. It may have been a bracket where they reconvened and solidified their relationship.

I also think that this was only achievable through Sasuke giving himself time to understand his feelings on his redemption journey, which allowed him to see things he had previously overlooked in a new light, and as such could open his mind to a deeper emotional connection with another person. He wanted to heal himself before he committed himself to Sakura, amongst other things.

It definitely solidified their relationship as a couple and allowed them to understand eachother one on one with no distractions, and I think this is why their relationship is so unbreakable in Boruto.

I would also like to see Sekibeing's short comic strip on the BP as a blueprint for Jun Esaka's next novel, if she is able to get it approved. I think it's a great starting point and there can be a lot filled in story-wise using the drawings he has already provided!

Sasuke’s Ideologies

Someone also wrote on twitter that genin Sasuke constantly saying ‘I will restore my clan’ might not have meant in the physical sense, but rather restoring honor to it instead. Of course this is why his ideology changed multiple times through Shippuden:

Initially going after his brother since OG Naruto as he just believed Itachi killed the clan for no reason.

Obito then found him and revealed the real reason as to why Itachi did what he did, and went after Danzo to get revenge for his brother.

Finally, after talking to the reincarnated Kage, he decided to protect the hidden leaf, and begin revolution to reshape the village himself as a hokage.

The reason he changed his ideologies so much is because he was always doing what he felt was right. He strayed onto different paths because his idea of righteousness was always changing. That is why I can never describe him as a pure villain. That’s why Naruto is so important in talking to Sasuke at the end, as Naruto is Sasuke’s reminder that everything he feels he lost in Family, friendship and love he still has at home in the village through Team 7, Naruto and Sakura.

I also believe thats why Kishimoto gave Sasuke and Sakura a daughter, because restoration is typically carried on through the male heir and their surname. The fact they only have one child, that of which is a daughter, shows that restoration in the physical sense was not so important as restoring the lost honor that the clan previously had. And Sakura honours this too, being the only Wife in Boruto to wear the crest of the clan she married into. She understands the importance that his family holds to him, and she displays this all the time.
