O’ SWEET MOON CHILD , how your natural senses shines against diversity / silvery gaze pledge upon the horizon , her soft spoken soliloquy clenched into a fragile tempo. a soft hum uplifted solemn melody and when the raven moves , she skips across the dirt and rubble —— her feet bare , and it sinks onto the ground. her astute senses listening to the hush whispers of gossips and rumors , each one directed at her , yet she pays them no mind. she knows people think of her as odd , why else would they refer to her as LOONY LOVEGOOD behind her backs. but she doesn’t care , she never did. luna had always been those remarkable people who was sincerely comfortable with herself. she is happy , she believes , even more so after the war. it changes people , and she was no different.
she has found peace within herself / acceptance too.
minding only to her own business , she follows the beat to her own melody. hand picking up stems of bluebells , wildflowers , and daffodils , she creates her own bouquet. ( it is springtime now ) , and she had always carried to habit of bringing her own flower arrangements for her common room. it has been that way , since first year , and she is glad to continue this tradition even now. lifting herself up , she continues down the familiar corridor. her feet touching the cold stones as she navigates away from the crowd of students. movements to the right , movements to the left , she cradles her flowers like an infant so close to her chest. she looks around , and eventually her gaze captures the form of the malfoy heir. he is alone again , luna finds herself concluding as her head tilting to the side , before making her way towards him.
❝ hello , draco. ❞ she greets him with the same dreamy tone as before , her free hand waving at him with the same familiarity as ever. she knows it bothers him , he doesn’t like it when people he doesn’t consider his friends call him by his name. however , to luna , he was her friend —— even if it seems one-sided. he is lonely now , she can see it on his face and even more so when he tenses up and attempts to ignore her. ( he is feeling guilty too ) , luna knows that looking at her brings back memories of that time in the manor of his own cellar , she must’ve looked rather terrified then .... and dirty too.
❝ you looked like you needed a friend , may i sit with you ? ❞ she doesn’t wait for an invitation and takes her own seat right next to him. ❝ it’s a lovely day today , don’t you think ? ❞ her one sided conversation carries on , and she doesn’t mind the fact that he was ignoring her. she empathizes with him greatly , and perhaps it was because of that he feels rather disturb of her. ❝ i was picking some flowers today. many of them just bloomed ... did you know that freshly pick flowers keep the wrackspurts away ? your head is filled with them. ❞
she doesn’t need her infamous spectrespecs to see these invisible creatures , she can just see it on his head. it fluttering around his thoughts and its fading away , he just doesn’t know it yet. she picks up a flower : blue bells and pulls it up to his view. ❝ may i put this on you , draco ? i think you’ll feel better if you do. ❞ she places a single wildflower on the back of her ear for demonstration , ❝ it doesn’t look that silly , and it will make me very happy. ❞ she persisted again , a kind smile naturally etch onto her complexion , he doesn’t say anything. and she can argue that he didn’t say no either. she takes it as permission , and before long she brushes the loose strands on his hair and places the bluebells around his head. its a flower crown now , and just like that she feels the wrackspurts disappearing from his head.
