That reply to Donald Trump is from Gérard Araud, who is the French Ambassador to the United States, based in Washington DC.

PRAY FOR KOREA #gwanghwamun2015
Yo okay. So I really hate to add more sorrow after what has happened /is happening in this world, but my country is going through shit right now, right this minute.
Some people may or may not know that our current “wow-progressive-female-president” is actually the entire opposite. Not only is she the daughter of a past dictator in Korea (this is actually the least of her flaws), but also 1) gender equality has actually flunked - Korea is last out of 37 OECD countries in gender wage gap (aka has the largest gap), 2) job market isn’t doing any better, and most current/recent is 3) attempt to revamp the history textbooks.
Now, you might wonder, what’s so bad about #3. Think of whitewashing-american-textbooks-bad but on a national level.
The government one day announced that it believes that all history books should be revamped because there’s too much inconsistency among the various versions. Okay, that’s reasonable. But here’s where people started to get on the edge: the government said it was “thinking” of it, but they had actually finished planning it and was into the final touches.
And in more detail, people (including myself) are expressing complaints because the government is the inconsistent one. Apparently, anything that is too “pro North Korea” needs to be edited out. And yet, “pro dictators” (aka the current president’s father) and “pro (imperialist)Japan” is fine.
The inconsistencies don’t end there.
At this very moment,
People are trapped in a subway station and police are filling it up with teargas
Outside in the streets, police are aiming teargas/water cannons at protesters (and random passerbys)
They even deliberately aimed at an ambulance that had a 70-yo man who got a concussion from the blasts (the hospital says he’s in dire condition)
Media are calling the protesters a violent mob and blaming them for sudden traffic and disaster: one reported that protesters held one policemen hostage, another (a police fb page) showed citizens breaking the police buses.
BUT the police had surrounded the protesters before the legal and authorized rally (you can register so in Korea) had started - already effectively making traffic, and shot the water cannons at the citizens first
The worst/highest martial law(계엄령) given in Korea history is during the three dictators era, especially Jeon Du Hwan(전두환)’s time. The current president called for martial law just one degree below that.
And where’s our dear president right now? Fled to Turkey.
The most I can do (for now) is spread awareness. Please help signal boost.

PLEASE REBLOG, PEACEFUL PROTESTERS WATER CANNONED IN SOUTH KOREA (14/11/15)
The citizens of South Korea are currently being oppressed with brute force by the government, Please reblog and help spread the word and bring awareness to the current situation
The recap:
Korea’s current PM, Park Geun hye has proposed to make complete alterations to the nation-wide textbook, consiting of heavily biased views about past events in order to manipulate and warp both history and it’s citizens. The new textbook condemns the Korean independence movement as well as glazing over the dictatorship of her father, erasing the history of thousands who were abused over his leadership.
A group of protestors, consisting mainly of uni and young high school students has decided to gather at Gwanghwamun for a PEACEFUL PROTEST (met all regulations, has been reported/notified to the police PRIOR the protest) when all areas leading to the area was cut off by police.
They have since fired WATERCANNONS (WATCH VIDEO) laced with capsaicin/tear gas (X) and oil, blasting at random at protestors AS WELL as ambulances and other volunteers trying to give first aid. A man has been blased in the face and is in critical condition while many others are injured or currently are being brutally mishandled by police. The tear gas used by the government has been notified to consist dangerous levels of capsaicin and 465.75 LITRES has already been spent already in close proximity of the protestors in just few hours. (Korea is also undergoing the worst drought in 40 years. Yay) BUT MOST OF ALL, THE GOVERNMENT IS HEAVILY CENSORING ALL THIS. They have censored the most popular website naver.com, erased all of the news headlines and refused to broadcast the current situation in all national TV news channels. We have no way of communicating without the censorship of the Government without depending on SNS.
Please share and help us from being silenced by this dictatorship.

The man shot down by the jet-stream of water in this video has undertaken severe brain-damage and is currently undergoing surgery. Police has also blasted the ambulance as well as the inside and a young student who was previously in the vehicle due to a broken arm had all of her liagments torn off from the sheer pressure of the water stream.
They have also barricaded all forms of transport as well as GASSING the underground subway lines in order to prevent anyone from returning home from the site. The Korean law only permits any legal protests until 11:00 pm. ANY PROTESTS AFTER THIS WILL BE ARRESTED AND DECLARED ILLEGAL. IT IS 12:40 AM IN SEOUL RIGHT NOW. They are suppressing the people by force. Please help spread this
A COMPLIATION VIDEO OF THE POLICE RESPONSE CAN BE FOUND ABOVE. The media channels controlled by the government (SBS, MBC, TVJosun etc etc…) are currently describing the protest as “brutal, violent and savage” and trying to put blame on the citizens themselves while manipulating the truth.
I think I’m not the only one feeling this weird trapped feeling today, feeling sick and overwhelmed but unable to stop reading, reblogging. Trying to understand when there is nothing to understand.
I live in the middle of it. 19 people died in front of the bar I go drinking twice a week, and my friend the barmaid was hidden behind the bar for two hours. One of my best friend lives rue Bichat and heard the gunfire from his window. I know a family trapped in stade de France. I should have been drinking in Republique at 8PM yesterday, where they started shooting.
Yeah I get it. We are freaking out.
But please, stop spreading only the bad stuff. Stop the pictures and videos of bodies in the street, of yelling and blood. Stop talking about refugee’s hate, and islamophobia.
Talk more about the people that yelled in the street the number of the code to their flat when victims where running everywhere to bring them to safety. The man that opened the window of his flat to victims of the Bataclan stranded on the roof.
Talk about the man that went back to help a stranger pregnant woman, and the kid that was carried to safety by a total stranger worried he could be trampled by the crowd.
Talk about the social media, the hashtag #porteouverte to get people out of the street and #voyageavecmoi to help people afraid to travel alone because of their religion/skin color.
Talk about the taxis that stayed in the street, bringing people home for free all night, and the bus drivers that helped evacuate the Bataclan.
The people crowding the blood centers, so much that Paris now has to send them back home.
The people in their home, terrified and in shock, and only waiting for the possibility to crowd the street and show them that we are afraid but not broken, and together.
There are handfuls of people that will take out of this tragedy all the bad lessons, the wrong evidences.
But please don’t talk about them. Talk about the fraternity and the love of the scared, scarred, ones in Paris. Because we are so many, and we won’t give up
