Sleepwalking.

I recently woke up on two different nights with my bedside lamp turned on. I didn’t remember switching it on at any point, but I knew it had been me.

It had been a long time since I’d had any sleepwalking episodes, even though as a kid I moved around a lot. I remember one night when I woke up at the edge of the bunk bed stairs, sliding down with my legs folded. If it hadn’t been for the feeling of slipping, I wouldn’t have woken up, and I could have fallen from the top and seriously hurt myself. Terrifying.

Another night I simply woke up without my blanket, and I found it in the living room, perfectly folded. Back then, I didn’t even know how to fold my blankets properly. It surprised me that it might have been my mother —she was on the sofa— because she would have literally taken the only blanket I had.

Another strange episode happened on a night I actually remember halfway. I shared a room with my younger siblings: they slept in the bunk bed and I slept on a separate bed. I remember talking to them and hearing them say to each other, “she’s sleepwalking again, leave her.” I don’t know why, but being called a sleepwalker while I was sleepwalking annoyed me deeply. I remember lighting up my own face with my phone’s glow and seeing the flash of white like God Himself was opening the gates for me right then. I also remember saying, “I’m not sleepwalking, see?” and then lifting my eyelids to prove I was awake. I don’t know if sleepwalkers usually have their eyes open, but I needed to show that mine were. The only thing I recall from them in that moment was discomfort. Maybe a tiny trauma they no longer remember if I ask them today.

The next morning they told me the whole thing and, of course, I remembered exactly what I had said. I didn’t have another sleepwalking episode again until a few nights ago, when I turned the light on in my sleep.

I’ve laughed quite a bit while writing this. Good stuff (it's been about 15 years since the last incident, more or less).

I also had hypnopompic hallucinations for a long time, which stopped after the biggest scare of my life haha 🧿👃🧿

I have to admit that my Tumblr name isn’t actually imaginegnomos or Imaginegnomos with a capital “i.” That name was already taken when I created the account, so I went with lmaginegnomos with a lowercase “L.” I don’t see it as a problem; it just gives me a bit of OCD, but I don’t think it’s what’s holding me back from my leap to success.

Even though the image conveys coldness on Mystra's part and she is even shown as much bigger than the viewer (us)… I believe that in her actions there was no simple attempt to just take down Gale and destroy him. In her past, a god more powerful than her sacrificed his self to save the universe. Maybe she saw that as a kind act that she expected Gale to fulfill :D
