MF-01 Aerostrike Version 2.1.0

A new update for MF-01 Aerostrike has been released!

Version 2.1.0 reworks the Aiming controls for Gamepads.

Additionally, new aiming settings have been added to the Options menu, and there's two new free paintjobs!

To update the itch version of the game, simply delete the old game files and replace them with the new ones.

Save files will not be affected.

To create a Desktop Shortcut: 1) Open the Aerostrike folder. 2) Left-click Aerostrike.exe. 3) Select "Send to". 4) Select "Desktop (create shortcut)".

Aerostrike Progress Report - June 4th, 2026

Today's Aerostrike progress report:

1) Impact sounds have been added, and the Audio Settings menu is now fully functional.

2) Next is creating the Video Settings menu. It'll include settings for display, resolution, v-sync, anti-aliasing, and an FPS counter.

1) Even more sounds have been added; all player weapons have firing sounds. Next up is adding impact sounds, and enabling volume settings.

Today's Aerostrike progress report: 1) I'm back! Work and progress reports are resuming.

2) Modified shield sprites to shine, and added some test ship models. Also added more weapon sounds; in particular I'm proud of how the laser beam sounds turned out.

Today's Aerostrike progress report:

1) Finished setting up the basic audio system to play global and positional sounds. Also added some weapon sounds I made using "jfxr".

2) I'll be away for a few weeks, so I won't be posting progress reports until I'm back.

Today's Aerostrike progress report:

1) Finished updating the project and assets to the new resolution. Also adjusted UI scaling to match.

2) Expanded the test bossfight to have two phases, each one in a different room. Also added a boss healthbar to the UI.

1) Working on adding a menu system. Most basic features are in place.

2) Ended up changing the project's resolution, and playtesting a new art style with 2x2 pixel sprites in the background. Also updated several systems.

Today's Aerostrike progress report:

1) Released Hotfix 2.1.3 for MF-01 Aerostrike. It fixes a minor bug in Hel's Fighters, and adds a new free paintjob, Pixelstrike.

2) The Pixelstrike ended up looking pretty good imo. I might play with this art style more.

1) Working on a map system. Specifically, an overlay minimap that can be toggled On and Off.

2) Multiple systems can now be freely utilized to create various scenarios, like locking the camera in place for an ambush!

1) Adjusted some NPC behaviors, and added more functionality to NPC Spawners.

2) Created a prototype bossfight to playtest weapon management. The boss swaps between 3 different weapons periodically. How does it look?

1) Further development of the prototype map. Also reworked a few background systems to add more functionality, namely for the camera.

1) A major milestone has been achieved. The save and load system has been created!

2) It uses a third-party library called SparkleStore to streamline the process. The system also seems capable of creating checkpoints.

1) Sorry for the delay, been too busy expanding the prototype map. It's up to 16 rooms and counting!

2) I've been playtesting systems by adding interesting sequences, like this wall-breach ambush. It uses 5 different systems!

1) I've begun building a prototype map to test the various game systems on. It's just a few rooms right now, I'll expand it as I add more stuff.

2) A fun idea I've been playing with is running into allied ships in battle!

1) Basic docking procedure has been implemented. It still looks rough and stiff, but it works! I'll have to adjust the speed and timing later.

2) Next is building a proper test map, with multiple rooms and some puzzles.

1) Enemy spawners were modified to accept modifications directly in the GMS2 room editor, rather than relying on code.

2) The test map will be expanded to start testing all these new systems together. After that, docks!

Happy new year everyone! I'm back with a progress report:

1) Destructible objects have been expanded to alter room states to affect conditional objects.

2) Updated the NPC pathfinding with navigation nodes. It helps control how many NPCs take the same route.
