Tiiiiime for a SMASHcon 2016 report!! 

This year was seriously so much fun....thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and chatted, took pics with me or came bearing gifts!

* quick note before the tldr! i reactivated my other twitter here [x] to chat with new friends from SMASH! who aren’t into kpop/exo but still want to stay connected...!  

Trust me I will not be offended in the least if you unfollow/mute my kpop twitter/tumblr if it’s not relevant to your interests so please don’t feel obliged; (and sorry to the people who stuck with me out of politeness all those years when that was my only account.... o<--< you are strong.)

So basically this year I had so much going on irl I somehow ended up picking up my prints for the con the day before the event....;;;; 

the story behind this is it actually ruined all my plans because:

> i realised i lost my opal card somewhere between the printers and the station (basically what us aussies use to pay for public transport, like Japan’s Suica) > i just deposited money on it an hour ago = $60 down the drain > i then missed the last train that would have gotten me to the venue before 6pm because i had to buy a new transport card, therefore I’d taken my very heavy luggage on a 4hr trip for nothing > when I got home that night it was 1am > i got about a 1 hour nap before getting up intending to catch the 5am bus to make it to the venue at 7am > it turns out this year the bus service i took last year is cancelled (!??) > i had to call in a favour to get driven the venue > we absolutely got lost > I got to the venue 20 minutes before opening more or less in my pajamas > THANK GOD FOR FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!

(( hey but at least the prints looked good!! ))

when will I ever get a decent 8 hours of sleep before a con??

ANYWAY IT WAS WORTH GETTING HOME AT 1AM BECAUSE I MANAGED TO GRAB DINNER WITH MY GOOD PALS CINO[x] AND LUCIA[x] (very delicious)

Lucia (who came all the way from Canberra!!!!) even brought us handmade oreo cake cubes....which were super delicious......(is there anything she can’t do???)

they even helped carry my things to the venue the next day and basically I would have been absolutely screwed without them + my helper Sakumi GOD BLESS YOU GUYS!!!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow we managed to get set up anyway and all my knick knacks actually filled up the table pretty well...! 

Saturday was hella fun and since I had a co-pilot for the first time ever I actually managed to walk around and explore (pic of my loot at the bottom)

Meanwhile, what was actually going on behind the table:

Anyway, after the main event on Saturday I parted ways with my pals and headed to the 10th Anniversary event to set up a table all over again for the party that was to go on until 11pm (why did I agree to do this again...?)

But actually it was a pretty fun experience and I got to meet some super cool new people at the party so no regrets!!!!!

Management kindly came by and gave free bento boxes to all us ‘guests’! (mine was chicken katsu) :3

Actually it was really tasty and just what I needed for erm....surviving on 36 hours+ without sleep THANK YOU SHAUN

The party itself was really lively and fun (and fancy looking!) and I got a free glowstick which I forgot to take a picture with haha

Also I was stationed next to con veteran Ry Spirit [x] who kindly lent me his velcro tape after my posters fell down for the 300th time, THANK YOU RY!!!!!!!

After the party I had another wild adventure after my phone ran out of battery while I was following google map directions for a 20min walk to the nearest station...(genius)

Since I was absolutely not keen on getting lost in the pitch black at midnight without directions i walked BACK to the venue where I met my saviours jb0x [x] and her helper who kindly let me share a cab with them..! THANK YOU MY HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!

also someone asked on Sunday if my outfit was supposed to be a lowkey cosplay of this airport jongdae AND I HAVE TO SAY.....THIS WAS....ACTUALLY NOT INTENTIONAL.....SORRY...........;;;; (omg)

( i’ll have you know this entire outfit was thrifted for under $15 )

Sometime during the day an angel dropped by and bestowed upon me this handwritten letter and gorgeous watercolour painting (!!?!?!?!?!?!) of which I am utterly unworthy and I think I was just yelling ‘WHAT!’ over and over for a good 5 minutes. 

Honestly thank you so so so much, I’m sorry was really touched and didn’t quite know how to respond, I will definitely treasure this forever!! T_____T) 

After I recovered from the shock I visited The Sallys and got this super cute fruit postcard from mango (THAT DOLPHINANA......speaks to me) and this STUNNING sketch zine and nge print from bok [x]

(honestly the sketch zine is everything i’ve ever wanted from a sketch zine, sydney people, if you ever have the chance I would highly recommend getting it! SO GOOD.)

Also dropped by jb0x to thank her and her pal for yesterday and picked up these gorgeous postcards!

(I actually...owed them money for the cab but they...gave me goods for free??? and wouldn’t take anything other than a $2 pin in exchange, in conclusion I am very mad and will definitely remember this for next year! >:o )

shoutout to Sakumi, the best helper ever, for taking the time out that weekend to babysit my stall pretty much the entire two days and all I could give you was kimbap and sad gravy fries o<---<

BUT I DIDN’T MIND!!!! BECAUSE I HAD A HOT DATE WITH THE MELBOURNE CREW (Kaipy, Rei and (fellow sydney sider) RI) RIGHT AFTER!! 

We went to Yebisu Izakaya and had the nicest good long chat over these incredible lunch sets.......then headed to Black Star at Kino and got the famous watermelon cake!

I can’t believe we were finally able to get lunch together after years of just missing out because of schedules!! What a perfect way to finish off that wild weekend... ( ;o;)

I honestly had the nicest time and it was so refreshing to finally be able to sit down and talk, hope you guys will visit again!!!

Wooooooo this is a pretty late announcement but I will be attending SMASH!con in Sydney again this weekend August 20-21 at table #2 right next door to my good pal lucia!!

I will be bringing the last few copies of the original MILLENIUM CHRONICLE KAI print run, as well as my sports anime sketchbook and the usual kpop prints and pins + a few new designs that I’ll be posting later on!

Hope to see at least a few of you there and as usual I’ll have some under the table gifts for any fans of exo so be sure to let me know if you are a fan! :^)

Hello! Will you ever create art books that contain all of your Exo works? I saw that you have one just strictly for Kai, but I love all your work!

Thanks for your question, I’ll answer this one publicly since I’m curious to know what people think about this as well haha;;

I’d definitely love to make an all-exo book in the future but I’m not quite sure what the content would be because honestly I just draw whatever I like so the subject matter and style etc is very scattered;;

I have a lot of ideas for comics and AUs though, so I was thinking one day I’d like to draw a more fleshed-out story, or even just compile a sketchbook around a common theme, and then leave the paintings for prints/postcards so people can pick and choose what they like.

Anyway I’d love to know if people would be interested in any of the following:

1) a longer comic book based on one of my AUs like mafia, space rangers/voltron, mama powers, magic academy etc probably about 24~60pages

2) a themed sketchbook with some short comics/scenarios that are connected e.g. pokemon, college, fashion or an otp theme, with this kind of loose sketch quality: [x][x][x]

3) a full colour ‘gallery’ type artbook e.g. paintings/illusts of this sort [x]

4) a sketchbook of traditional drawings/sketches e.g. [x]

Yikes...!! Alright I just tried that myself and no matter what i change it to it gives me the same page unfortunately, but by clicking through from the source I seem to get there fine;; (I’m using chrome)

Clicking on the source link from the tumblr dash might work for some people, otherwise you can just search ‘lmtxo’ and click on the user filter from the main site but it’s a bit of hassle.
