I’m producing and directing a short coming-of-age drama film for my thesis, titled ‘Marisol’. 

Summary: Set in Western Sydney, a teenage Filipina immigrant - Marisol - lives with her aging lola (‘grandmother’). Along with her childhood bestfriend-turned-lover, Danica, she processes her feelings of place and memory after she receives a postcard from her estranged mother back in her homeland.

This came from a concept I’ve been dreaming of for years. As a queer Filipina from immigrant parents, it also comes from personal stories of memory, connection and diaspora.
