Your bio says you keep pineapple [isopods]! What are those? I haven’t heard of them

hi! sorry for the late reply, I'm fairly inactive here these days.

That said pineapple , or crystal pineapple isopods, or Cristarmadillidium muricatum, are lovely little guys! They are a very small spikey isopod who like very arid conditions. Keeping them is a charitable for me, since back when i bought mine they were very expensive and i ended up with only 6, all presumably of the same sex since they never bred. So my colony never really started- but i love them all the same <3

Excuse the bad quality pics but I was watching my pods this evening and noticed a white one!!! I haven't added any new guys into this tank in about three years so it will be interesting to see if this is a one off!

(Mixed tank because when I moved into my house I'd find the odd one that had gotten through the floorboards and decided to just pop them into their own home)

shoutout to Pants, the most special isopod I ever produced. lived a long life years ago but hey I figured some people may find it neat. It popped up in a "punta cana" armadillidium mix and had this 50/50 coloration its whole life.
