What if they can financially take care of a disabled child, but they weren't capable of caring for them in other ways?
This is a very old ask, but I'm going through my ask boxes. If you're still around anon, can you explain what you mean?

I'm around I'm just shit at keeping up with any side blogs. But I'm still here somewhat. I think I used Katey before here, it's been a while. Now I'm simply K! -mod K/Katey
AHHH IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A FETUS OVERLORD. I GET TO LIVE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT AND I GET TO SUCK FREE NUTRIENTS FROM THEIR BODIES WITHOUT EVEN GIVING BACK ANYTHING IN RETURN. PLUS I ALSO GET WORSHIPED BY MY ADORING FOLLOWERS. I CAN DO NO WRONG, EVEN IF I MAKE MY INCUBATOR SERIOUSLY ILL. THE INCUBATOR IS NOTHING BUT A VESSEL FOR MY GREATNESS. WHENEVER MY INCUBATOR ISN'T PRODUCING ENOUGH NUTRIENTS FOR ME I KICK TO SHOW MY DISPLEASURE.
.
Hey I am terrible with disabled people, they give me sever anxiety especially mentally disabled people. I don't think it would be fair on my or the child to carry a pregnancy to term if the fetus was disabled.
They give you severe anxiety? What do you mean? Regardless, if you don't think you can care for the child how it may need you too, then it's fine to not want to have a child. What good would it be to you or the child to have them knowing you might not be able to care for them properly? -K
(Sorry, sent the last message too soon.) I meant to ask what about if the parent is disabled also, and it would be "too much trouble" to care for the kid. Or if they have a mental illness.
p1 was: "What if they were financially able to take care of the a disabled child, but couldn't take care of them in other ways?" I don't see why an abortion would be a problem. If the parents don't think, disabled or not, that they can take care of a child financially, emotionally, and otherwise, then they SHOULD PROBABLY NOT have that child. -K
Is Teratophobia and the means people undergo to ensure they don't have a disabled child, ableistic and should we judge them because of it?
It really depends on the situation I think. Like if the reason is "we can't financially afford to give this disabled child the help it will need", that's fine. But if they have the ability and means to take care of a disabled child, if their reasoning is based in ableism, like "Ugh disabled kids would be too much trouble" or "I don't want to have to deal with it" or something else based in ableism, that is not okay and yes they should probably be judged for it. -katey
Can you please tag those pictures of "abortions"? I know they aren't real but they still really creep me out. thanks
I thought I tagged one with "gore tw" but I might not have. If I forgot to tag something, I'm sorry! I'll try to be more vigilant and Leigh will probably try to be as well.-katey

This seems pretty fucked up, refusing to be with someone because they have a different opinion on one thing? But then again, it kind of makes sense. If I weren’t ready to have a child, or couldn’t afford it, or any other reason people get abortions–I wouldn’t want to be with them, because accidents can happen, and that would be when the difference in opinion actually matters. However, if I was well-off financially and okay with getting pregnant, then I’d have no problem with them being pro-life.
You would go out with someone who believes pregnant people should have less rights to their body than corpses?
Pro life isn’t an opinion. An opinion is “I like orange juice” not “I think pregnant people shouldn’t have the right to bodily autonomy”
Okay, not an opinion. Hmm. I’m a bit stumped now. Like if I was prepared to have children anyways, their belief wouldn’t matter. But I’d definitely have an issue with the types who go out and harass abortion doctors or women going into abortion clinics. Those people are downright shitty. But one who wasn’t an “activist” and was casual in their belief, that wouldn’t be a big problem, I think.
They still hold an incredibly harmful belief. Like, would you go out with someone who is racist even if they were “casual” about it?
There’s a difference between “I don’t want to have an abortion” or “I don’t really think it’s right,” as opposed to “NO ONE should get an abortion” or “YOU are immoral if you get an abortion.”
“I don’t really think it’s right” does imply that people who do get abortions are immoral
There’s a difference between “I don’t want to have an abortion” and “I don’t think abortions are right”
The former is your personal choice about your own body, the latter is a belief that implies that abortion is wrong
You’re right, the wording of this really matters. But the point I’m trying to make to the other person in this discussion is that it’s possible to not want to have an abortion yourself and still believe in letting others have that right.
being a pro-lifer means you believe abortion is immoral, and that everyone who does that is making an immoral choice. Which is a SUPER harmful belief, even if it’s not relevant at the moment
Yeah I'm glad you understand the issue with wording here
But yeah, you can not want an abortion for yourself, yet not believe abortion is wrong for anyone else

What’s the matter with thinking or implying that abortion is wrong?
It's stigmatizing abortion

Yay welcome back! -katey
It will never cease to amaze me the lengths people will go to in order to justify evil.
Oh hey what’s up- you're a racist and this “argument” has nothing to do with pregnant people being allowed to control their own bodies. - Leigh
Violence against another human being can NEVER be a human right! How misogynistic is it to imply (or say outright) that women can’t be free and equal without the so-called “right” to kill their children? Women should NOT have to be *exactly* like men to be equal: isn’t that the virtue of equality? Despite our differences, we are equal in dignity and in worth! End pregnancy discrimination, not a child’s life!
Literally watching pro life assholes try and warp the values of feminism to support forced births is amazing.
“Pregnancy discrimination” lmao give me a break. - Leigh
Women’s Health: An Important Message From Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger
Margaret Sanger was a racist piece of shit and so therefore you want to stop pregnant people from accessing vital healthcare services.

Prolife is a joke . Who would ever take them seriously when everybody is killing things like ants and plants.
I mean, a foetus is quite different from an ant or a plant but they are a joke, yes. - Leigh
