most cartoonishly evil pro-life talking point i've ever seen was "oh so you think minors should be allowed to get an abortion without parental consent?" wait. wait so you think a parent should be allowed to veto a minor's abortion? you think parents should be allowed to force a 12 year old to give birth? against their will? you think it should be allowed and legal to do that? you think it's a problem that parents are not allowed to force a literal child to give birth?
The majority of people seeking abortions (51%) reported using birth control that failed. That is affirmative non-consent to pregnancy. And consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy.
Consent to one activity with one person for a few minutes is not a binding contract to lease your body to an unwelcome third party for most of a year.
A child should never be "a consequence". All children should be wanted. "Taking accountability" doesn't have to mean "giving birth".
An abortion is way more responsible than birthing a child you're not ready for.
Reblog if you want more abortion representation in media.
I’m so tired of characters in movies and tv shows changing their minds at an abortion clinic the very last minute because “this baby is precious🥺 this life is innocent🥺”. abort that parasite. abortion is human rights. abortion is healthcare. abortion is good.
The court struck down two state bans
I couldn’t be more thrilled to write this sentence: the Wyoming Supreme Court ruled today to protect abortion rights, striking down the state’s two (yes, two!) abortion bans. The judges held that the bans violate the state constitution, which protects people’s right to make their own healthcare decisions.
Just as important, the court states plainly that abortion is healthcare. At a moment when conservatives across the country are trying to divorce abortion from medicine—insisting that “pregnancy isn’t a disease” and that abortion is never medically necessary—this ruling could prove vital for all of us, not just those in Wyoming.
As of Jan 21st, 2025, a full copy of the constitution is no longer available on whitehouse.gov. I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the biggest threat to authoritarianism and facism is a well educated and informed population. Inform yourself and fight.
a copy of the document can still be found on the archives website. I think now is probably a good time to read it if you haven't and download it, incase it is erased from here as well.

I'm immune to the "what if your mother had an abortion/had aborted you" argument not only because of the whole "if I don't exist how would I care" paradox but also because I recognize my mother as a human being with agency and because I do not consider the concept of motherhood and abortion mutually exclusive. people who had abortions can become parents later on. parents can have abortions. how do know my mother didn't have an abortion at some point? or yours?
