“So does cleaning my house after a weekend home with Molls.” She pointed out with a chuckle. Overall, her daughter was fairly tidy, but she was still ten years old. She was always coming up with something new to do, and making new messes in the process. “Tell me about it; I’m running late nearly every morning, and I can’t stand waiting for my car to defrost before I can go. Would you wanna watch a movie one night this week, if you’re not working? I’m usually done making dinner by four or five, unless you wanted to eat with us.”
“You got me there. I’ve babysat that kid enough to know that to be nothing but the truth,” Prissy replied with a fond chuckle at the mention of her niece. She absolutely adored that little girl, and often babysat for her sister and Owen when she wasn’t too busy, so she knew all too well how exhausting looking after a kid for a few hours could be, even one as remarkably calm as Molly. “Yup, that’s the worst - waiting for your windows to defrost. It seems to take forever when you’re on a time crunch.” At the mention of a movie night, Prissy grinned and gave a nod, “Of course! You know I love a good movie night, and dinner would be good. I’m kinda sick of diner food and I can’t cook for anything, so if you’re willing to feed me, I’m so there.”
“God, it was so much worse when she was a toddler though. Remember how she’d just bring out toy after toy after toy, until her toybox was almost empty. That was a job in itself to clean up every day.” She chuckled. “Lately, it’s books or paints. Some days I miss the beeping tonka trucks and princess wardrobes, but it’s nice watching her like... express herself, in her own way.” She thought fondly. In a way, Molly was growing to be the perfect mix of her parents, studious and creative. Smart. And Beckett couldn’t be more proud. “I’m honestly shocked I get her to school some days. Or myself, for that matter.” She couldn’t help but laugh. “We’re seriously gonna have to teach you some easy dishes. That diner shit isn’t good for you all the time.”
