I lowk think sleeping in a bed with ryland grace would be a nightmare for him- for the SOLE reason that he is TERRIFIED to wake you. cause he’d feel awful.

If he needs to roll onto his other side, he does it with more concentration and care than any experiment he’s ever done or any paper he’s ever written.

And if you fall asleep while snuggled up to him? while cuddling? Oh babe, it’s over. It’s the same situation as when your pet rests on you and you become too frozen to even think of moving a muscle because you’d rather die than disturb their precious, peaceful little soul. you’re the pet.

his hot girlfriend stoking a hand over his inner thigh and whispering in his ear while he watches TV in bed is heaven compared to what he’s used to. and it pisses you the hell OFFFF. and it only makes you try harder and harder to get him riled up.

mmmmm pre-the place beyond the pines, being a gentle, soft hearted girl among a friend group where everyone is hard af.

luke and a bunch of stupid ass tatted men and a couple older badass women who you kinda look up to and also are kinda scared of.

and u just sit in one of their garages one night, most people with a beer or a cigarette, you sitting across the room from luke and noticing the way he looks away when you look at him which is weird because he’s luke…

mmm someone in the group gets into a little trouble, you don’t hear from them and everyone starts to get a little worried. you all wanna go to their last known location but nobody in the group wants YOU to go, being the princess you are… luke offers to stay back with you, but you refuse to be treated like fragile.

mmmmmmm so he stays watching you the whole time you head to this place, he wants you safe, and it almost becomes a fault because he can’t seem to focus on anything else.

and you’ve never seen him this way, because he trusts everyone else in the group to knock someone’s teeth out. but he doesn’t think that of you, because even if you believe you can handle yourself, he doesn’t believe you could ever hurt someone- and even if you insist you could- he wouldn’t want it to get that point.

professor ryland grace and younger reader but it’s game night with ryland’s old ass friends.

they’re similar to him but without the cuteness, intelligence, and personality. basically, they’re old and boring.

some of them are nice, some of them talk to you like you’re stupid cause you’re younger, and a some of them think a younger girl dating their peer is hot- in a borderline gross way- Ryland doesn’t like that.

you could be out clubbing like most people your age, but resting your head on Ryland’s crossed legs with your hands folded over your stomach while they play a board game that was literally purchased before you were born is a lot more fun. it feels more mature, less sweaty, and it means you get to spend time with your favourite guy over a bunch of frat boy types and weird drunks hitting on you.

every now and then, he’ll stroke a hand through your hair, the game going on for ages before he suggests a different one- maybe one that you can understand the rules to… or one with teams so that you can work with him as opposed to using him like a pillow.

over the course of the night, you actually do get along with a lot of his friends, the non-pervy, non-condescending, sweet ones (the only ones Ryland’s gonna stay in contact with when the nights over) and it does become an enjoyable game night that starts to make you picture a much more domestic, casual side to your relationship with a guy who’s a little older.

it sorta bridges the gap between your youthful vibrance and his mature sensibility.

matter of fact I got one for you.

Luke Glanton being too exhausted after the carnival to put up a fight, or being so obsessed w you that his reluctance doesn’t win out over his need to please you.

so he lets you grab an eyeshadow palette and a brush so you can colour his tattoos in like you’ve been wanting to do everytime you’re bored.

It’s easy to wash off afterward, and you looked so intent on keeping the eyeshadow inside the lines- you’re lip between your teeth, brows furrowing slightly- that he’s actually considering letting you do it again.
