eyes flickered across the page , lips parting as she mouthed each number to herself , head doing its own calculations . few moments later , she moves , hand twisting around paper and shoving it in the others direction . “ c’mon . tell me how you’d do this and then i’ll MAYBE leave you alone . you might as well try it out . i might be better than your tutor and get it to stick in that little head of yours . ”

she watched as the girl thought, her head cocking to the side slightly in confusion on how someone did this all in their head. “i uhh..” audrey stammered. taking her pencil, she started to write it out, only to look up at her midway. she didn’t want to cover the full thing in the wrong answer. “am i doing it right so far?” she asked her.

Hearing the comment did cause a playful smirk to appear on her face, “The names Lara, which I would hope that a cutie like you won’t forget. Also you don’t need to apologize for it. I always love getting compliments.” She giggled. “May I ask why you don’t like asking for help?” She raised an eyebrow. “I understand well I mean in the part about moms being a bitch cause when mine is kinda upset or if I do something she doesn’t approve of then it’s a full on bitch fest and I just..” She rolled her eyes. “I don’t understand why, like I wouldn’t let any family members into mine unless I invite them in.”

A nervous grin went across her face as she glanced down at her shoes. “Thank you.” She mumbled, obviously still a little flustered. “I’m Audrey by the way. I don’t think I mentioned that.” She told her. “I uh... I never have really. Most of the time it’s for school and everyone here seems pretty smart so it’s kinda awkward I guess.” She shrugged. “Moms can be the worst.” Audrey agreed. “I don’t even want them in the house let alone my room and it always seems as if the kids just have to be with me. I’m not even the oldest, that house is obnoxiously huge, why do they have to be with me.”

‘literally no one has said that about school ever.’ declan smirked, amused by the girl’s actions. he sat down beside her, taking a look at the equation in question, he wasn’t by any means an expert at math, his thing was always english, but he thought if he put enough effort, he could do it. he wasn’t known for putting in effort, however. ‘that looks tough. wonder if anyone could help you about it. have you tried tutorz?’

“you should meet my parents.” she recanted. they always talked about school and how it would be fun if she applied herself. “i have a tutor and brynn, but here i am... struggling.” she told the boy. she hated that she was this bad at it. “who are you exactly?” she asked him, realizing she really didn’t know who she was talking to.

Lara couldn’t help but chuckle as she couldn’t help but tease a little. “It’s a good thing to try and remember.” She smiled softly. “I’m sure good things will come from that, plus it’s a blessing when I can find someone that is willing too.” she nodded her head as she listened to the other girl speak, “Yikes, I can’t blame you for that, that’s usually me with family gatherings cause god my mom can be a complete bitch when it comes to making sure our house is perfect.”

She was usually good with matching faces to names but everyone had their moments. “I usually remember pretty faces.” She said, that was supposed to be an inside thought but here it was, out in the open. “Sorry.” She quickly apologized. “But, I love helping. I don’t like asking for help but I like helping others. It makes them smile. Smiles are nice.” She explained. “My moms just a bitch but you know, when she’s in a rush it’s even worse.” Audrey said. “I just don’t get why we have to have everyone room clean, like, why would anyone be in my room. It’s on the top floor for a reason.”

“Maybe you’re having just a rough patch, with math right now.” She quipped and chuckled slightly when she noticed that the younger girl was now blushing. “You know. That’s good enough for me. I can’t always have everything I want. I’m already too needy for my own good.” Diana stated with a smile and dug out her iPhone, just to look at what time the house party was going to be held. “It’s today and I can come pick you up at 9pm at your place. I just ask your address later, so don’t worry about that.” She said without lifting her eyes up from her phone and started to send text messages to her friends.

“You always have a nice way to put things.” She mused, Audrey was usually an optimistic person, sometimes overly optimistic but when it came to math she sounded bitter as hell. “I don’t think you’re needy.” She told her, of course she didn’t know much about her but she had a good feeling about the girl, minus the nervous feeling. “Um, yeah. I can probably get out and go.” She told her, she’d probably just tell everyone she was going to a sleepover, or better yet not tell anyone at all and take her chances with the window.

“yeah, i do! my dads bought all my pets for me last year on my sixth birthday as kinda a ‘oh my god our baby is sixteen’ present. my hermit crabs names are louis, niall, harry, liam and zayn but i did have to change zayn’s name due to events to bertram. my two pugs names are periwinkle and esteban julio ricardo dela rosa ramirez. my starfishes name is sergio and my turtles name is speedy-it’s supposed to be an oxymoron.” she said to herself smiling proudly talking about her pets more like family let’s be real here. “yeah that wasn’t right. i only watched it because holy shit did i have a crush on spike-I mean who wouldn’t?”

“my dad got me a car and another bible for my sixteenth birthday, the hermit crabs sound a lot cooler.” she told her. “i think i like sergio the most, it sounds really fancy. what do starfish eat??” she said only to end with a question. she always wished she had more pets but considering she tried her best not to be home, she felt like it’d be unfair. “oh yeah, spike was really cute.” she nodded, she always was more of a buffy girl, she barely payed attention to spike if she was being honest.
