i think i'm gonna archive this profile and shift everything to a shiny new blog.
"Ye-ep! āust wike yoo telled me!" She laughed, going cross eyed for a moment as he tweaked her nose. "I wissed yoo!" Her arms lifted and wrapped around his neck as she hugged him.
"That's my girl," he laughed. Roy tended to twist up his face in this completely hilarious manner when he was annoyed; picturing it now brought Dick far too much joy.
"I bet I missed you more, kid. In fact I missed you so much that I even got you a present from Bludhaven." The tiny silver crown pendant glittered as he took the necklace from his back pocket; the pink gem in the center seemed to shimmer the brightest. He saw it at a small jewelry store in Bludhaven he'd been helping with their security and knew the little princess would love it.
Donna was caught off guard when he pulled her back in and into a dancing positions. Looking up at him she gave Dick a soft smile.
"Itās alright Dick. Honestly if you do not wish to be here then we can leave andĀ we can dance at home."
"You want to be here so I'm gonna be here," he said, smiling down at her. It was how it worked between them. She had once sat with him through hours of a boxing tournament without so much as a fuss, munching away on nachos and asking questions. If she could do that he could stand a two-step or two.
"Besides, I like showing you off," he teased, leaning down to rest his forehead against her own a minute. She smelled like flowers and something familiar, something completely Donna.
"You know how medicine does on me," she informed him with a sigh, lifting her hands up to her face and gently rubbed eyes in a tired manner. "They donātā¦ work quite too well on me, the pills have little to no effect on me." She explained to him with a smile as his fingers started to comb through her dark locks.
"What about you? How are the pills working out for you?" she asked, lifting her upper body up and started to comb her own fingers through his messy hair, making it more neater than before. "It worries me to see you awake all the time." She added, leaning forward to kiss him on the forehead softly.Ā
"I know...wish we could find something that helped. But little sleep is better than none, yeah?" He reached a hand up and toyed with a piece of her hair a moment gently. Dick waited most nights until she was asleep before he'd let himself drift off; otherwise he'd stay up making murmured small talk with her until they both fell asleep.
He closed his eyes on reflex as her soft lips pressed against his forehead. Dick shook his head a bit. "I'm alright, Rae. You shouldn't worry about me." He wanted to laugh; pot calling the kettle black. "They're helping but they tend to make bad nights worse..."

"Yeah..." His voice trailed off slightly. The snapping of the tight-rope wire. The sickening thud of their bodies. All those screams. Admirable.
Dick shook the thoughts from his head; now wasn't the time for old ghosts. "New York, huh? Visited once. Maybe we should put in our own Gotham Broadway; seemed to do them good," he laughed. "Born and bred here. Can't seem to escape the place."
