I just watched the first episode of The Vampire Lestat and wow the glam in this - I love it.

It's definitely a very different tone to the first two seasons obviously and feels like you're watching a complete different show.

I read the books a very long time ago and so remember them very vaguely. So I'm not entirely sure how much they'd change in the show as opposed to the book. I'll definitely have to read up on some stuff.
