Okay but let's talk about Audifaz (Ari's father) participation today!!!!
I'll give you some context to refresh our memories.
Audifaz was the first person who didn't accept Ari's orientation when he came out as gay after defending Temo in school from the bullies.
Ari was so affected by the fact that his own father couldn't accept who he was and always tried to change him. When Ari and Temo became boyfriends Audifaz was so mad at them and yet still insisted that his orientation and his relationship were "against the nature and the Lord's word"
But as we saw Ari and Polita (Ari's mother) go through a lot of bad moments, like Polita goin to jail, Imelda (Ari's Grandmother) trying to taking Arquímedes (Ari's little brother) away from them. And even when Audifaz and his brother Tulio hired a sex worker for "make Ari a real man" (really disgusting I know) He slowly realised that he'd never change Ari and only was hurting his son and ex wife Polita who always standed up against him for defend Ari.
By the end of "Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia" (the soap opera where Aristemo started) we saw such a beautiful moment between father and son where Audifaz apologies to Ari in such a beautiful way
"I thought that a homosexual person didn't deserve the same, that you could stay away from the wrong way... But the wrong way was mine because I did hurt you. You are a man Aristoteles, even better man than me. You are kind, talented, dreamer, tenacious. You are filled with the light of the stars of the universe! Aristoteles, And besides many other things... You are gay. And today I know that doesn't change that little baby I carry for the very first time... And with his little hand wrapped my finger. Today I realize that I can't stop the hate and make your dreams come true... Because my dream is that you to be happy "
Sadly, the reason why Audifaz went to Mexico City was because Polita's death. But it's incredible to see how much Audifaz was supporing his son. We saw that he has already move on of Ari's sexual orientation, he told him such a beautiful words and we saw that now totally accepted his relationship with Temo!
But, why is this so important and we shouldn't be sleeping on it?
Because we saw that and old person with such a strong ideology can change! That grown people can accept this even though it's not like "they were raised"
It's important to show this acceptation in Mexico, the country of the "machos" Mexico, one of the must homophobic countries of the world. Mexico a place where people cover his hate with "the way I was educated" or "because my religion told me..." Or "I'm an older person, I can't change my mind now"
