The Best Velvet Accessories to Buy This Fall
A bohemian look gets luxe in burgundy and black.
This is a performance of Franz Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 90 No. 3 in G-Flat Major. It’s famously been dubbed a “Song Without Words” (Andras Schiff, et al.), predating Felix Mendelssohn’s set(s) by the same name. Despite its status as a classic of Romantic music, sonically I find the piece to be a very contemporary sounding experiment in tones. Compare the repeating arpeggiated chords with the deceptively complex, soothing melody to many so-called minimalist compositions from the past 40 years. Guess who surpasses? Whatever beauty I may have captured in this recording is owed to Schubert; I simply did my best to follow his lead.
This was recorded in a single take with my iPhone. Performance time: approximately 6 minutes. (N.B.: For optimal listening, you may need to turn down the volume on your speakers; Tumblr mangles the uploaded audio)
I hope you enjoy it. Please share and re-post as you like!
A very stunning and beautiful performance of a piece by Schubert. Love the sound of this piano.
