Ch. 374 Leaks
So, I guess Hori is going to paint Hawks as bad for killing Twice nowā¦
First of all itās a little to late for that. After Twice was killed Hawks wasnāt framed as a bad person for doing so. As much as people say that him getting off scot-free during the press conference is supposed to be another failure of Hero Society, it wasnāt framed that way what-so-ever. It was framed as Enji and the rest of them trying to step up and do the best they could. It wasnāt sinister at all and zero people ever showed any hesitance over what he had done. This makes you think the plot was either dropped or that it was a sad but necessary thing.
Second of all Twice coming back to fuck over the Heroes isnāt a direct consequence of him being killed. Twice would have been on AfOās side regardless of Hawks killing him or notāhe made that perfectly clear when they fought the first time and with his actions during the MVA arc. Hori is passing it off asĀ āsee, you shouldnāt have killed Twice because now heās going to fuck things upā, but that only works if Hawks not killing him would have caused a different outcome, which from everything weāve been shown wouldnāt have been the case. Hori easily could have set it up to work that way but he didnāt.
Twice was never going to not follow his friends and do whatever they told him to do. He was devoted to them fully and nothing would have deterred him to our knowledge. Twice was never upset with all the killing they did and how much further Shigaraki wanted to go. He was fine with going after and possibly killing teenagers right out the gate because the only thing that mattered to him was that the LoV liked him and they were his friends.Ā
If Hawks hadnāt killed him Twice would have either escaped with the LoV and used his duplicate to help over run the city and kill as many people as possible (as we saw him do in Deika), or been arrested and given how Kurogiri was just sprung, probably ended up on the battle field again anyway. Hawks killing or not killing Twice has zero effectāheād be here fighting the Heroes anyway. Itās not a fitting punishment for Hawks that heās back because his actions wouldnāt have changed this scenario either way. Twice was always going to duplicate himself or his allies and try and murder as many people as possible because hisĀ āfamilyā told him to.Ā
On top of that Hawks is, I guess, supposed to be wrong for wanting to kill Twice again, but like I said above the writing undermines this message. We have never seen someone talk down a villain with success ever. Not even Stain stuck around to actually help out, he just gave All Might a letter, cheered him up and fucked off (plus it wasnāt even useful in the long run anyway). Hawks is the only Hero who even tried to talk a villain. Sure, it wasnāt the best, but it was better then just sticking a knife in his back and calling it a day. If Hori wanted the killing Twice option to be so clearly wrong, he shouldnāt have had Hawks bother to try talking to Twice at all. Now both options look like failures and that neither would work, yet only one is suddenly the wrong choice.Ā
The whole thing is so disappointing because there was a way this plot could have worked but Hori never pulled it of. He just couldnāt have Hawks kill Twice in cold blood, nor could he have Twice (or any of the other LoV members for that matter) show any concern or displeasure at the extreme methods they were being asked to do. Yet, despite not doing those things in the story, Hori is still pushing Hawksā actions as wrong now. If he was going to do that Hori shouldnāt have chickened out and just have made Hawks completely in the wrong to begin with.Ā
i think itās an interesting detail. twice is dead, the real twice is dead. no matter who or which quirk brought him back to life in any living-imitative form of being, the in-universe reality is twice - that silly, cheerful, pitiful guy is gone. i think hawks would be the one who knows that best, after all, he killed twice.
maybe if itās the real twice then even in the middle of suchĀ perilous situation, hawk wouldnāt (and would never) order killing on him without hesitance. but thatās not the case.Ā
This hit home, and I think it will resonate hard with all my creative friends, here. You are amazing and brilliant and I BEG YOU to keep creating!! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Hey writers! Everyone has their own style and yours is great. Some peopleās writing is lush and descriptive and emotional, others are sparse and sleek and powerful, and others still are fast-paced and immediate and visceral. They all have their merits. No style is better than another. Itās all fine.
And! Not all of your pieces have to be one particular style either. Just because your last work was meandering or slow or heavy doesnāt mean your next canāt be sharp or quick or light. Donāt beat yourself up because you arenāt doing what you did in the last thing you wrote. That was a different piece, required a different mood. Do what works for you. Do what works for this story. Donāt worry about what others do or what youāve done before.

I WON HARD
as an asian sometimes it struck me weirdly that thereāre people who donāt know that even with good intention humans can hurt each other, especially good intention with generation gap and a cowardice tendency. so you have never had to attend 3 different cram schools a week bc youāre neglectful of your study and close to fail your classes?Ā
I'm not much of a fanfic writer, but I was challenged to pick a fandom and write a one-shot fanfic for it. And of course; I chose baby Touya Todoroki and his dear old dad, heh. I just started writing but it's going great so far. I think I'll be done with it tomorrow, hopefully. Here's a quick, unedited snippet:
Edit: I finished it!
This is absolutely incredible. The writing is really intense and this short look into Touya's feelings and thoughts was beautifully worded and unbearably sad. The childish voice and the desperation in it, the starvation for fatherly love, the helplessness and yes, the terror, that are conveyed through the text fit perfectly the idea I have of the character as I read about him in the manga, which made this even more painful to read -and reread.
Obsessed with this paragraph that makes my heart hurt for multiple reasons.
"Dad's anger didn't scare him. He could always read something.. not loving but caring and gentle, buried deep, deep beneath the surface of the anger. Not to be exposed to the open, but still as elemental and firm as an old tree's roots. His science teacher once mentioned that the deeper the roots of a tree are; the harder to pull they become. Something is stronger and truer the more it's deeply hidden. It was a fact. Besides, truly valuable things are kept away, aren't they? Mom never wears her grandmother's neckless, even though it was the last birthday present she gave her before she died. Before she married dad. She says it's too precious to be put on display."
You're way too kind! ā¤ļø Thank you so, so much for the lovely comment.

Takato Yamamoto, End of Crazy Love
Is dabi the most tragic character in bnha?
it depends on people's personal notion of tragic. to me, no.
i don't understand what you guys are talking about, Arknights is a very hypersexualized game indeed.
these designs are very sexual if you're as intelligent as i am.
to whoever arguesĀ ābut ina and liyue are based on japan and china so sumeru must be based on [abc] therefore itās representing wrongly [abcāsĀ features]ā
first, the company who created that game is a chinese company. the concept teams constitute chinese writers. why tf they canāt have their own country precisely fantasized in their own game while simply building other countries based onĀ general cultures of a region?
second, japanese culture literally dominates every fucking single anime-related content out there, why? because japanese people has fighted to build up their own media, not only inspired theĀ virtual entertainment industry of the whole east asia but also successfullyĀ advertised their culture to foreigners. to the point every weeboo who only reads manga or watches anime or just simply follows any anime-related content, knows a thing or two about jp culture. with theirĀ role and merit like that, why tf a chinese anime-styled game canātĀ fantasized a fictitious japan precisely while simply building other countries based on general cultures of a region?
oh please, sumeru doesnāt base on any specified middle asian country. it is a jumbled hot pot of middle asia.
explaining why our country wouldnātĀ legalizeĀ same-sex marriage soon for the youngsters should have been the last thing i do on monday. so tired with these children.
