we as a fandom do not deserve a live action adaptation of our favorite books if we cannot understand that an adaptation cannot be completely the same as the original work. that's the point of an adaptation, actually. for it to take the basic plot of a book and make changes for it to be displayed on a the screen. so we as a fandom have to learn what to prioritize in terms of accuracy. i fear the looks of the characters do not actually matter unless their looks play a specific role in the books; e.g. representation. so, in most cases, the appearances and identities of the actors don't matter. you can be disappointed about it, but its really the acting that should be conveying the message of the books. say it with me. it does not matter, and it is not worth harassing anyone about!
