Detail of a Late Gothic fresco (c. 1480) depicting a woman churning butter aided by a demon.

Executed in a naive, folk-art vernacular style characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian workshops, the work relies on bold linear contours and a minimalist palette of earth pigments (ochres and charcoal). The flat, non-perspective composition emphasizes moral narrative over realism.

Location: Tingsted Church, Falster, Denmark.
