Being…being...being... being human 🎵

It’s been a long time since I’ve drawn digitally, so this is a bit shoddy and slapped together, but I had to draw something for this show. While I’ve been obsessed with and disliked the show in equal measure at different points in my life, it has to be said that Steven Universe has had an enormous impact on me. It was the first show I produced fanart for, made me cry more times than I can count, and helped me work through personal issues. Steven Universe Future began at a rather low point in my life, and it really helped me come to terms with how I was feeling and seek support. I owe the Crewniverse an enormous amount of gratitude for that. Thank you for creating a show that grew up with us, made us laugh and cry (sometimes at the same time), and managed to get at the heart of what it means to be human in a show about talking space rocks.

Dan’s new video meant the world to me, and I’m so immensely proud of him. Although I haven’t watched his videos in quite a while, I’m so glad this one came up in my recommended, because it was equal parts nostalgic, joyous, and heartbreaking to watch. I wish him all the love and happiness in the world :))
