This one is in my top 10 BeerList.A very nice beer from the folks at Deep Ellum Brewery.
From the brewery.
FOUR SWORDS BARREL-AGED BELGIAN-STYLE QUADRUPEL
10.5% ABV 44 IBU SEPTEMBER (2016) Our award-winning Belgian-style quad, is not a beer to be taken lightly, especially after it has been aged in Cabernet red wine barrels for over a year. Youâll notice the unique flavors of our traditional Belgian-style quad: a surge of complex, fruity aromatics, dark fruits, and a slightly spicy finish. The Cabernet barrels add even more character with a hint of vanilla, some notes of caramel and toast, with the fruity acidity of a great red wine. Itâs a very rare treat that we hope you enjoy.

A great Oktoberfest beer from the folks at Hacker-Pschorr. From the brewery Original Oktoberfest Amber Märzen The Original Oktoberfest beer - it is so popuplar that we brew it year-round. Golden amber color, typical malt aromas, defined by the various malting barley from the Bavarian countryside Our Oktoberfest Amber Märzen is the amber colored version of the traditional Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen. The Original has firmly established itself at the Munich Oktoberfest and meanwhile wins out against the traditional Märzen. The Original boasts a golden amber color, typical malt aromas, defined by the various malting barley from the Bavarian countryside, complemented by a pleasantly light hoppy note â a taste sensation for every beer connoisseur. Iâve been trying several different Marzen styles beers lately. The missus came home with this one.A very delicious brew from the folks at Southern Star Brewery.
From the brewery. Break out the lederhosen, itâs time for Oktoberfest! This German-Style Festbier is amber-hued with a full malt aroma and a thick, creamy, foamy froth. The taste offers a decidedly nutty light roast with an emphasis on malt sweetness thatâs smooth and well balanced.

A delicious brew from the folks a Buffalo Bayou Brewery. Info on beer from the website. When the Houston Grand Opera asked us to brew something truly creative to celebrate the opening night of The Barber of Seville, we needed a secret ingredient as dark, sweet, and tricky as Figaro himself. We had never seen a fig beer before, so naturally we had to make one and dedicate it them. Turkish figs were immediately ordered for overnight delivery and a one-of-a-kind brew recipe was created. http://buffbrew.com/
From the brewery's website Gentleman's Relish Our Brown Ale gives a nod to the Northern English Brown style. However, since defeating the English in 1783, it is analogistic that the American version be stronger to reflect on England's vanquishment. Gentleman's Relish uses Maris Otter malt as the base, augmented with dark crystal and chocolate malts. Whole cone English hops are used throughout the boil, imparting their characteristic smooth bitterness. The beer is named after an Englishman's favorite snack, an anchovy paste, typically eaten on toast. Tasting notes: dark brown with a thick creamy head; chocolate-caramelly-nuttiness yields to a clean hoppy finish. It makes one almost wish that the English were still here to share a pint of this fine brew...almost. ABV: 6.2% IBUs: 28 http://lonepint.com/index.php
All hail the Queen.2016 Queen's Limited Release,White Chocolate Porter from Texas Big Brewery. These guys are making some great beer. Here's a description from the Brewer. White Chocolate Porter Show your love on St. Valentine's Day with a beer brewed just for the occasion. We took our award winning âTexas Crudeâ, (Robust Porter), and added white chocolate to the recipe. It is amazing how much white chocolate perfectly enhanced and changed the flavor of the beer. Don't expect a blast of white chocolate though, we added just enough so you know it is white chocolate. Our goal was to use the white chocolate to enhance a great beer, not take it over. The perfect way to say "I Love You!" to that craft beer lover. Check them out at http://texasbigbeer.com/brewery/
A friend from the past stopped in last night.Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #14.A nice Belgium Stong Ale. Info from the Brewer. The goal of this beer was to make a Belgian/American hybrid using west coast American hops and rye to emulate the fruit and spices often found in Belgian beers. The beer pours a bright golden color. The nose is a mixture of phenolics from the Belgian wit yeast and light citrus from the American hops with a touch of graininess. Rye adds sweetness and complexity to the pilsner and aromatic malts. The spice of the rye is somewhat subdued at lower temperatures but becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Cascade and centennial hops were used for both flavor and aroma, adding floral and citrus notes to play off the strengths of the yeast. Belgian candi sugar was added during fermentation to bump up the alcohol while allowing the beer to avoid finishing too sweet. The dry finish hides the 10% alcohol nicely and makes you want to take another sip. This beer is best enjoyed at 50°F to 55°F. Check them out at http://www.saintarnold.com/beers/divine_14.html
