"Just stay where I can see you!"
Jon backed off, keeping his greatsword raised. âWhat are you doing here?â He demanded. It was rare to find a woman so near to the wall, especially one armed such as she was.Â
Jon shook his head in exasperation, impressed in her good faith in his men. âIt gets lonely enough, but theyâre allowed to go to Moleâs town, if they so wish.â He said. âThey arenât entirely lonely, but Iâm sure a new face would be welcome.â He would have to post a guard he trusted at her door, or maybe Ghost. He wondered how Snow would react to his direwolf, but decided to set that off until later. âYou can keep the blade as well, if you feel that you would like the protection.â Jon said. âHow do you feel about direwolves?â He asked cautiously, as many people feared Ghost; within good reason. He wasnât exactly an amiable canine companion.
"Thereâs a town nearby?", she mused with a smile. Upon his offer of a blade yet again, she finally gave in and agreed by saying, "Thank you, Jon." It was peculiar how vehemently he seemed to insist she have a weapon on her, and she wondered just how dangerous this situation was to which he was leading her. She knew next to nothing about this man, and she found herself wondering about his past and his family. He had indicated he was a bastard, but she hoped he had had a safe home and happy childhood. Suddenly pulled from her thoughts by his words, she snapped to attention and looked at him, her expression full of curiosity. "A what? Whatâs a direwolf?"
Jon smiled, because she was just going to love meeting Ghost, then. "It's sort of a gigantic wolf." He said, and let out a piercing whistle. "His name is Ghost." He explained, just moments before the massive direwolf appeared, racing straight for Snow. "He wont bite, promise." Jon said quickly, before the direwolf leaped towards her.
