Pirates are hated by some and feared by many, hence why they usually stick with each other. So when Mira is thrown off the boat by her own family, she gives death for granted, water filling her lungs and coherency escaping her mind. But then, in the midst of memories replaying in her head - not many good memories to relive - something blocks her from the sun filtering through the waves, something warm, Mira realized, something able to warm her skin with the simple hold on her wrist. Not an angel, but maybe something akin to one, saving her life and looking like the most beautiful thing the harsh pirate had ever seen
