{ It felt good to hold on to him and feel him keep her tightly, though not uncomfortably so in the least. The last time Katherine had hugged him she had been disguised as her doppelganger, and while that hadn’t been a lasting trick this embrace was uncannily distinct because it was saying something completely different. She was communicating wordlessly how grateful she was to be doing this together, for however long it actually lasted. It was real and it was honest. She gave him a final squeeze then pulled back, a playful smile etched on her face to lighten the mood as she raised her eyebrows at him slightly. }

Stefan eye's wondered around Caroline' face, she seemed off today, like she wasn't herself. And then he saw it, the giant bruise on the side of her neck and his instinct's kicked in to immediately question her. Stefan leaned in slightly and placed his hand slightly under the bruise, "How did this happened?.."

Caroline looked up when Stefan lean towards her, averting her gaze when he spoke. “It’s not important,” she said softly, trying to hide the bruise again. “I’m fine.”

Stefan looked into Caroline's eyes as he stroked her cheek and examined the bruise, his doctor-ish instincts kicked in and he asked again demanding an answer, "Who did this to you Caroline?! You're not fine, so don't even start.."
