My name is Julian Williams. I'm currently attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Filmmaking. This is my personal tumblr so there's just about everything on this blog.

I envy those who only have to worry about battling the stress from their job and nothing else.  (Whining and complaining under the break)

I am tired.  And in a much less temporary way than "tired" usually means.

 I'm so sick of making tons and tons of work at my job, in such a hectic, fast-paced environment, and hating everything I'm paid to make.  Film is such a stressful, agonizing process, and the whole point of putting yourself through that is for the satisfaction of what you create.  It sucks when the satisfaction part is removed from the equation.

School starts in a week and a half, and I have 6 work projects due to be edited by the end of the week, 12 more in the queue, 2 live freelance projects, a senior film to write/shoot/edit/finish (shooting in 3 weeks, so pre-production is heavy right now), a potential feature film editing gig coming up, and tons of papers to write over the course of this next semester.  Not to mention my roommates and I have one month to find a house to rent, and then we have to do the move during all of this.

I have spent the last 4 years pushing myself as hard as possible, doing my best to make sure I'm working even harder than my peers, trying my damnedest to lay the groundwork for my career, and I'm so over it.  I just want to graduate so school can stop getting in my way, find a job that I don't dread going to every morning, and settle in so I can raise a family and be happy.  

I can feel the passion in me slowly dying with each year, and that is not a good feeling.

Robin Williams was a true force of nature whose remarkable body of work touched untold millions. He was sincere and generous and one of the most brilliant comedic minds ever to grace the planet. Very few achieve his exalted status. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and to the entire comedy community for losing one of our own.
