Everyone is saying that there's no hope for Callie and Arizona because they didn't speak two words to each other.
They had scenes together, yall!!!!! They were together in the beginning, when Arizona walks up and they all go see the new interns. (Arizona glances at Callie). Then, they were seen together in the OR viewing room, with friends being chill and normal. Then, they shared a patient.
Both ladies worked together on the pregnant lady, and they didnāt really have time to speak to each other. And as far as not even saying medical jargon to each other, Callie was only there to stabilize the girlās neck. Callieās one job was to literally not move so that she doesnāt paralyze the woman even more. I believe thatās why she wasnāt talking! Go re-watch Callie. Sheās looking down the entire time and sheās focusing so that she doesnāt move that ladyās neck. Arizona and Edwards were the ones who needed to go back and forth discussing medical terminology with the patient. But not really, Arizona was the main lead seeing that the woman went into labor. In an elevator.
I think thereās importance in the silence. Not that they were silent, but that they are acting normal and being normal around each other. No stolen glances and no awkward jokes about the leg. No heavy tension and dramatic hold-your-breath, walking on egg shells. They were working and focusing on that. Like they should be. Not heart broken or emotional.
I think they purposely showed Callie and Arizona working together and being focused. They talked out loud in the viewing room, there was no need for them to talk directly to each other. And when thereās a nearly paralyzed then suddenly unparalyzed patient on the bed having a baby in the elevator, are they suppose to talk about their feelings or be romantic?
I think them being together and being normal is a really big thing. It shows that thereās no drama and heaviness anymore. It was light and without tension. And thatās what they will have to be if thereās a chance they will ever return to each other. And it shows them literally WORKING TOGETHER. Not talking, but actually doing the action of working together. In their relationship, actions are way more than words.
Also, tonightās episode made me think there would be a cliffhanger. But in the description for the finale, it says Callie gives someone a second chance. So I really donāt know if Arizona and Callie will end up together by the finale, but I still donāt think itās impossible. I donāt want it to be rushed either. If Callie dates someone else, then it CLICKS that she will only love Arizona, Iām okay with them not getting together in the finale and it being put off so itās more natural.
ONE LAST THING
I also think itās a good thing their reunion (If there is one) isnāt this big heavy plot line being promoted and stuff. Thereās way bigger things going on in the show with Meredith. And Arizona and Callieās story lines are ALWAYS so heavy and emotional. I donāt want someone to get injured and they fall back in love. Or there to be this big love triangle. I just want them to realize they love each other and thatās it. Quiet, beautiful, light, and happy. They need light, not heaviness. Sometimes these big dramatic story lines arenāt necessary. I truly think the writers are putting them back together but in a soft out of the spotlight way because for too long itās been so hectic and in our faces.
So all in all,
I still have hope for them. And it made me really happy to see them working together and being normal with friends. It was healthy. And thatās what is important when it comes to Arizona and Callie.
