New Intro Post (As of 10/14/23)

Hello, and welcome to the lost era. This blog used to be exclusively focused on sparkleanimals until this most recent update, where I am going to branch out and focus on old niches of the web and memories in general, including graphics and recounts of memories people have had.

The only moderator here is Mod Risk (@radiation-risk). If anyone else claims to be a mod, that is not me. Please ignore them.

I do tag here. If there is something that needs tagged other than ID tags and warnings for flashing images/eyestrain, let me know and I will tag accordingly.

The Ask Button lets you send in your memories to be posted, wether it be a weird dream you had years ago, or your experience on a long shut down website.

My general rules for such asks are

Explicit content is forbidden. Wether this be sexual or swearing, it’s not allowed.

Trauma Dumps are not allowed. I cannot help with your experiences. Please seek out someone who can.

Do not mention any actual names of random individuals. For example, say you were talking about someone named “Johnny Braeson.” Come up with a different name, as he is not a popular person/celebrity.

Please also do not call out anyone, this is a neutral space. No drama is tolerated, no matter the views of any individual. This includes anything for or against real world issues. LGBT discussion is allowed, as it’s a simple fact of life. Anything against this will be instantly deleted, and said users will be blocked.

Short Update

I (mod Risk) am kind of working on fitting how I deem the internet culture I want to capture with this blog into the theme. As such I’m going to currently define the category of this blog as the following:

A variety of communities that are forgotten along with the creator, often dating back to 2018 or earlier that are preserved in the case of a shutdown of a website prominent to that community, or are given a new spotlight for the people who knew it and forgot about it.

In simple terms:

Dead communities made by content creators also forgotten, usually from before 2018 are given a spotlight for preservation and bringing back memories to whoever was a fan of them.

As such, I will be refraining from the topics that I had in mind for research that do not fit the cut for this. Sorry people who might’ve been interested in a deep dive of dead series from still popular content creators, this blog may not be there for you yet.

For those interested in dead niche communities, congratulations! You’ve found just the place.

Ah yes my Steve saga era which litterly less then a week ago. grabbed me by the ankles and dragged me back into the abyss that is wattpad.

I don't remember how exactly I got into the Fandom it was probably vea Fandom osmosis as I was one of the few people in another little known minecraft Fandom and boy, the instant anyone commented on a book of mine, or just wrote one I consumed everything that they ever wrote.

I remember watching some of the really early stuff years before I got truly Into the fandom but I watched everything and caught up just around the Elemental steve Arc just before the Rainbow town was destroyed.

My main memory that stuck with me was Rainbow dieing from Void, I physically screamed and my parents were so concerned about the intire ordeal.

The Illusion/ Reality Arc was so fun as well, I litterly Called the whole "that's not my Rainbow bean" thing, and "Illusion is going to take his Account" God I was so exsited when I called that one.

Steve saga days were incredible my brain chemistry has been majorly impacted by it.. and oh boy I'm in college and nearly 21... but I'm litterly thinking of continuing one of my fanfics.

Thanks for sharing! I can completely understand getting dragged back into The Steve Saga after many years, it’s basically what happened to me. I primarily consumed The Steve Saga and some fanworks as osmosis, that being my sibling rambling to me about the episodes and oftentimes joining them to watch the newest episode.

When they got into the community I think it was somewhat close to Galaxy’s first appearance. I think Nightmare’s arc was coming to a close as they had caught up and told me all about it. I’ve been looking back at some of those memories and find a sense of community, one that actually respected one another for who they were.

It’s odd to think I was in an entirely different house when TSS was about 6 months from ending. It’s been a few years living in a different house and I’ve really come back to the memories of how it felt to live back when the community existed, really.

I feel that people get pulled back into the communities they were in to some extent because they miss the actual getting along part, even if there was some drama. It’s also because things were a bit better for a lot of people I’ve noticed getting dragged by the ankles into the old communities they were in. In my personal experience, something had happened to me that I never truly thought much of until 2021. It was about that time I started getting into some older communities (that weren’t exactly TSS) I was in, and rediscovering those small things.

I’m glad to see there are other people who have gotten thrown back into the void of community.

My Memories Involving The Steve Saga and its Fandom.

First off, for those who are confused on either ends why I’m posting this on a blog about sparklecats, it’s due to a general focus on memories of internet niches I’m working to get this blog onto.

As of now, The Steve Saga fandom is dying because people are leaving and not entering due to the long time it takes to get through the entire series. I have affiliations with this fandom due to my sibling Krash having been in the fandom circa 2018-2019, where it wrote a couple pieces for the fandom which are now lost to time due to the deletion of the account holding the works. Now, this fandom is best described as near dead, like the sparklecat era and Fer.al’s existence, meaning it too is allowed to enter the “Dying Niches” theme of this blog.

So, what are my remembrances of this era?

I remember Galaxy Steve’s introduction. I ended up rewatching it to see if any memories I missed came back from it, and a few did.

First off, I remember the plotline from before the episode where Galaxy arrived, with Faceless. Krash was very invested in the lore at this point, having consumed the entire episode list to the current point it was at in late 2017-2018, and I remember joining them on their bunk bed, of which I had the bottom bunk at the time, and watching the episode with the fake Sabre and how it was figured out who the real one was with one question.

As well, I remember Krash coming to me and telling me to come watch the episode where Galaxy arrived with them because they were so excited to see a new character.

I remember when Krash figured out that the series was fake, but was still happy to watch.

One of my largest memories, however, has to come from the Wattpad side of the community. One of the most popular writers in the fandom was a friend of Krash, and when a new story of hers released, I would go read it because of Krash.

He ending up having me follow all the writers in the community, all 300 he knew, and I did.

These are only a few memories, the ones I remember. Might have to get a confessional from Krash, now that I think about it.

An Update Regarding JustaLittleSparkly

(Note due to tagging for The Steve Saga: I am looking for people to send in their memories of the fandom 2017-2019 for a new project this blog will have during the hiatus that will last 3-4 months on this blog. Feel free to send in an ask if you have memories of the fandom from that era. Thanks!)

Hello! Head Admin Risk Here! I’ve been on break with this blog because of a lot of reasons.

First off, this blog is not discontinued. Simply to put it, this blog has been on hiatus. Returns to posting aren’t going to be too soon, but not as much as 2 years. Expect a break for another 3-4 months with occasional posts like reblogs of my 2021 sparklecat art and reblogs of other sparkleanimal archives.

I am hoping to return by November-December, the era of which I have returned and settled into my school and thus have a spare device to use for archiving. As well, I want to start a couple new tags/archives for this other than feral/sparkleanimal archives, like a “tribute” tag for a specific dead fandom that had caught my eye. The tribute would generally be screenshots of animations and writing collages of writers in the community.

Due to this, I’d like to ask to anyone here if they know of The Steve Saga (FavreMySabre) and was in the fandom during its original era in 2017-2019. So basically pre-Rainbow Quest/Twisted Rainbow/That space spinoff. If you do, please send over an ask telling me of your memories of the fandom during the era!
