Maxine immediately glared at the stranger disturbing her peace then immediately soften up as soon as she heard his intentions. “Thank you about that. Not a lot of people would do that.”

Conrad knew his face must have shifted into thinly veiled fear at her glare, but he was quick to wipe that away and replace it with a neutral expression. “No problem, most people seem to feel extremely entitled, and most likely would have given it back and asked for their’s.”

Jeez, that brought back some memories. Dylan had eaten a lot of strawberries sneakily whenever he’d been assigned to the strawberry fields, so he raised an eyebrow. “I’m not sure if I’m the right person for the job,” he said, “But I’m bored as shit. So let’s go.”

Conrad was happy the other boy was willing to help, as not most were. Boredom has worked in his favor for once in his life. “Awesome, follow me, the sooner we get started the sooner we are finished.”

Blocked by a truly gigantic bouquet of flowers, Percy twitched gently and sighed. He didn’t like getting stuck behind things, so he was as keen as a peach to help get on his way. “Oh, sure thing ese.” He smiled gently and took the flowers.

“Much appreciated,” Conrad said as he pulled out his phone, and sent a quick test to his study partner that he was going to be late due to work. He looked up and gave Percy a somewhat exasperated look. His partner wasn’t the best, but he knew she wasn’t a botony major, so he couldn’t fault her too harshly. “Sorry about them, my phone was buzzing like crazy.”

“Hey, Maxine is it? I think they accidentally gave me your order. I was right behind you, this is coffee, and I ordered tea.” He says, going over to the girl where she stands, most likely waiting for the coffee that he has in his hands.

She watched as the arrow whizzed through the air but not if it hit its mark, eyes eyes going back to Conrad as she walked over to him. “Knives. I watched a youtube video of circus knife throws and got…intrigued.” As she said it she waved the pouch of celestial bronze throwing knives she had brought with her, she couldn’t help the slight blush as she spoke either, the idea sounded much more abused out loud then it had last night in her head. “Bow and arrows for you again?”

“Ah very nice, I’m not a bog fan of knives myself, much too up close and personal for my tastes.” He tells her with a small shrug. He’s never been good at up close fighting, ranged has always been much more his style. “Hey, sounds pretty cool though.” he notes, he knows he’s seen videos like that before, and scared himself shitless by trying to throw a knife the next day. “Of course, considering this bow is mine and mine alone. I don’t really use anything else.” He admits, rubbing his neck with an embarrassed laugh.

Getting almost hit in the freakin’ face with, like, five arrows was not a great addition to an already weird as heck day, okay? He just wanted to keep thinking about that pretty rainbow girl, not lose his freaking great face. With all the anger his very small 5′0″ stature could muster, Dimi stopped over to the arrow instructor. “HEY! Aren’t you supposed to be teaching them and not, I dunno, letting them maim people? Are you even paying attention?”

Conrad was not having what he would consider a good day. He woke up and had to come all the way to Camp, found out he got a C on a paper in one of his classes, and still had an essay to write eventually, due that night. So when it seemed like none of his disciples were going to be able to hit the target, he was getting ready to call an end to training, and shoot arrows for an hour. So, having a kid yell at him was on the top of his list of shit he doesn’t feel like dealing with. Conrad breathes in a sigh, looking down at the kid, who has to be a foot and some inches shorter than him. He has a mantra running through his head of don’t yell don’t yell. He’s searching his mind for something else to say besides ‘fuck you fuck off’, and finally decides to just talk and see how that works. “Listen kid, I can’t control how good or bad these kids are at bow and arrow but what they don't need is another brat coming over and saying shit like that. If you don’t wanna get hit by arrows, don’t stand in the line of fire.” He bites out, his face staying indifferent, his voice level the whole time. He’s not sure how he managed that.

alabaster pressed his hand against a section of the wall, and where his fingers were splayed out a rune pulsed in glowing green before fading back into the stone. when he heard his name, he glanced down the tunnels of the labyrinth in the direction of the sound. “who’s there?” he called out, his voice echoing off the walls. his eyes adjusted to the light of a nearby lamp and he blinked when he recognized who it was. “conrad?” it wasn’t unheard of for mortals to fall into the labyrinth—even with all the work done in recent years to make it more habitable and traversable, the tunnels were still growing and changing, much like a living organism. “—what are you doing here?”

Conrad, seeing that it truly is Alabaster, and not a trick his eyes are playing on him, walks over to the other boy swiftly. He really expected to never see him ever again, not after The Recall came out. He didn’t have the boys number, or really anything beside his name and the place he got coffee and food occasionally. “I assume the same as you.” He says with a smile, probably one of the most genuine since he’s been back at Camp. “I haven’t been to the Labyrinth and I came down to see it, I guess? So far I’m not a fan.” He says with a small laugh, he really wanted to see some of the temples down here, but he wasn’t sure how that would blow over. “I didn’t know you were a Demigod.”

Early morning training was starting to become somewhat of a routine for Natalie. With the lack of movement around at daybreak, it was the best time for her to really practice without fear of judgment. It didn’t hurt that the sunrise over the water turned the sky colours she just wished she could paint either. Some morning it would just be her and the training dummy for company, but there had been several occasions in which Conrad had been present too, which was nice. At least he talked back, unlike the straw stuffed punchbag. As the blonde entered the training area she spotted him straight away, which wasn’t surprising as he was the only other person around. “Goodmorning!” She called with a small wave, ever cautious of intruding.

Conrad, while not at the camp everyday due to duties he had for school, always made sure he got practice in before the kids were up, so he was ready for training help when the time came. He wasn’t always alone, which he didn’t mind, as long as they didn’t try and use up his space. A common figure was Natalie, who he preferred over most. She was funny, and wasn’t fake nice like he felt some of the older demigods were. He was pulling his arm back to shoot off an arrow at an apple he had set up quite a bit away, when he heard a voice. He let the arrow loose, not bothering to see if it hit to look at her. “Hey, Natalie. What weapon is it this fine morning?”

Conrad wasn’t so much scared of the Labyrinth, as he disliked being under ground. He wouldn’t openly admit his large fear of being anywhere below the surface though. He just knew he had to get through this to get to one of the temples down here. He was walking, hands in his pockets, when he spotted someone familiar. “Alabaster?” He called, seeing if it really was him. He hadn’t seen Alabaster since before The Recall. While he wouldn’t call them close friends, they did often share a table at his local coffee shop. He never would have guessed the other boy was a demigod.
