Confront #79
“We need to talk,” Ciara said as she walked through the storefront doors. She was looking directly at Faith, who was writing something behind the cash register.
“When I finish this….”
“No Faith, I need to talk to you now!” Faith recognized the agitation in Ciara’s voice.
“What’s going on?” Faith asked as she guided her into their empty break room, away from their costumers.
Ciara slammed the door behind her as she walked inside. “What the fuck is your problem Faith? Purposely hiring my husband’s ex. What type of shit is that?”
Faith kept her distance as she moved to the other side of the room. “I hired her because she needed a job.”
“That’s bullshit and you know it. You hired her to be messy.” Ciara said as she moved closer to her.
“I didn’t know that was his…”
“Bullshit, Faith. You called, ready to hire her as soon as one of your little gossiping friends told you about their past.” Ciara bellowed. “I know everything, except for why you wanted to hurt me!”
Faith rolled her eyes as she slid further away from where Ciara stood. “I was doing a favor for a friend. She asked me to hire her, so I did. The fact that she used to fuck your husband was out of my control.”
Ciara’s fist clinched, stopping all possible blood flow through her fingers. It took all of her inner strength not to swing. “Why do you even care, Faith?”
“I don’t.”
“You obviously do. That’s why your ass was pressed for me to get to know that girl.” Ciara yelled.
“You need to lower your voice. There’s costumers out there.”
“You think I give a damn about those costumers?”
Faith was backed into a corner with Ciara just inches away with her arms to her side. “You need to calm down. We’re all adults. We can talk about this.”
“No, you’re going to answer my question. Why the fuck did you do this?” Ciara watched, intensely as a tear fell from Faith’s eye. That was her first time, in a while, seeing Faith show any type of emotion.
“I don’t know. I guess, it’s just… Well, it’s something I wanted.” Faith’s voice was weak from emotion. “The big house, the fancy car, the dog, the kids and the husband.”
“So you tried to bring in someone from his past to ruin my marriage because you’re a jealous bitch?” Ci didn’t feel any pity for her friend.
“Yeah… I guess if that’s how you wanna put it!”
“I don’t want to put it any way, Faith. I’d rather not be having this conversation with a ‘so-called’ friend. Jealous or not, what you did was really low Faith,” Ciara shouted. “Maybe if you stop being such a bitch, you can actually get a man.”
Faith continued to wipe her tears. “I’m sorry. What I did was wrong and I’m apologizing. But you have to believe me when I say that I was doing Marisol a favor by hiring Kia.”
Ciara wasn’t buying any of her words.
“I’m truly sorry,” she repeated.
“You really are Faith. You’re a sorry excuse for a friend. And, even worse, you’re a sorry excuse for a woman.” Ciara’s voice was much more calm, but still intense. “I drove down here with full intentions on whooping your ass all up and through this store. But now that I see how pathetic you are, I can’t even begin to waste my damn time with you.”
“Is everything alright in here?” Tanya said in a nervous tone as she swung open the door.
Ciara never took her eyes off of Faith as she began to make her exit. Just before she reached the door, she looked at both women. “I don’t want to be affiliated with this fake ass store. Or the fake ass bitches who run it.”
Tanya went to speak, but was cut off by Ciara. “You could’ve told me.”
“I didn’t know what Faith was up to,” Tanya stated.
“In my book, you’re just as messy as that bitch because as soon as you found out, I should’ve been the first to know.” Ciara pointed her finger directly in Tanya’s face.
“Stay the fuck away from me and my family. I don’t need you or her.” Ciara turned to leave the room and never looked back.
…
On her way home, she didn’t shed one tear. Or feel one ounce of sadness about losing two friends that day.
It wasn’t until she reached her house, that she realized she had been surrounded by so much fake, it almost ruined something as real as her love for Future.
…
As she pulled into the driveway, she seen Future’s car parked in front of the door which was unusual. And she noticed her mom’s car was no longer there.
She walked through the front door with hesitation. She was sure, Future wasn’t supposed to be home until later that day.
Her eyes glanced downward at his suitcase laying by the door, along with a few other bags next to it.
“Nayvadius!” Ciara yelled throughout the house.
Seconds later, she heard the hallway bathroom flush and the door open.
“What’s wrong?” Future asked in a panicked tone as he stared at his wife from about 15 feet away.
Ciara didn’t answer as she stared back at him with a blank face. “You okay?” Future walked towards her and wrapped his arms around shoulders, pulling her as close to him as possible.
Ciara gripped his waist and allowed her head to rest on his chest. “I’m better now.”
“You sure?”
Ciara looked up at him and smiled, while shaking her head ‘yes’.
She could feel his eyes staring down on her through his dark lenses. “I had to pee so damn bad. I left all my shit in the floor.”
Ciara giggled as they let each other go. “I can see that.”
They picked up his bags and took them to their bedroom.
Future pulled out some of the new clothes he picked up from the mall earlier.
“How was your show last night?”
“It was cool. I mean, the crowd responded well.” Future mumbled as he looked through more of his bags. “I couldn’t sleep in that hotel room though.”
“Why?” Ci asked.
“Because I couldn’t get over how things were before I left here last night.”
Ciara sighed. “Babe, it’s cool if you wanna leave the past in the past. I…”
“No.” Future sat down next to her on the bed. “If it’s something that bothers you, we should talk about it.”
“Babe, I know the story already. And honestly, I understand why you didn’t want to tell me. It’s in the past now though. We can leave it.” Ciara’s voice was sad.
“How do you know?”
“I went and saw Kia today,” she replied,
He shook his head in slight disappointment. “Babe. You ain’t even have to go to her. I would’ve told you when I got back.”
“I know. But, I needed to know what was going on. I couldn’t be left in the dark much longer about it.” Ciara stated. “You left and refused to talk to me, so I figured you weren’t…”
“I had to go, Ci. I was gonna be late to my show if I didn’t leave then. You should’ve trusted me.” Future said.
Ciara rolled here eyes. “It’s kind of hard to trust that you would’ve told me, when we’ve been together all this time and you continuously failed to mention her.”
Future laid his back on the bed. And placed one hand behind his head, while gently rubbing Ciara’s lower back. “I didn’t tell you because it wasn’t important.”
“That’s not what she said.” Ciara stared down at him.
He kissed his teeth. “We were young. It wasn’t real love. More like lust.” He sat back up.
Ciara meekly smirked as she raised her hands to his face and slowly pulled down his shades. And like she expected, his eyes were red and puffy from his lack of sleep.
“She hurt you and that’s why you didn’t want to talk me about it, before today. I really do understand.”
Future’s eyes shut, momentarily.
“Look, she was the first woman I ever loved.” He mumbled as he watched Ciara’s facial expression never change. “We had great times together. I thought I was gonna marry that girl. But she fucked my brother and broke my trust.”
“I’m not gonna lie. That shit kinda messed me up. The possibility of her having a baby and me not knowing if it’s my kid or my niece or nephew.” He shook his head. “I lost respect for women, at that point. I started being reckless. That’s how I ended up with Trinity and Jaiden. Even though I love them, they came at a time when I was out of control. I didn’t think I could get hurt again, like Kia hurt me, if I didn’t get too involved.”
Ciara placed her hand over his hand and moved closer.
“And my strategy worked for a while. Until the night I met you. You had a nigga’s heart in your pocket, at first sight.” He laughed as he watched his beautiful wife blush like a schoolgirl standing in front of her class crush.
Ciara childishly bit down on her bottom brim, in effort to hold back her smile. But, her pearly white teeth peeped from behind her lips when her husband poked at the tiny dimples on her cheeks.
“I’m serious Ci. I can’t even lie, at one point, I was so into you that I got scared and almost fucked everything up by reverting back to my old habit.” Ciara sighed, knowing he was referring to the time he cheated with Jazzlyn. “But luckily, you loved me as much as I loved you. And you made me become a far better man from that day on.”
Ciara nodded her head as she listened to his passion-filled words.
He smiled bashfully when he realized how long he had been rambling.
“I said all that to say, none of those females made me feel the way you make me feel. I love you. And I don’t want the past to EVER get in the way of what we share.” Future expressed as their fingers interlocked with one another.
“Me either baby.” She kissed his cheek softly causing him to lick his lips and smile. He wrapped his arms around her as her mouth traced his neck slowly.
She stopped, for a second. “You won’t be seeing Tanya and Faith around anymore. Their getting left in our past too.”
Future looked at her curiously until she continued. “Faith is the one who purposely hired Kia. I confronted her and all she said was that we have what she doesn’t. She’s a jealous bitch and I don’t want her around me, you or the kids.”
“I knew Faith smut ass was a snake in the grass. But what about Tanya?”
“She’s guilty by association. I had to cut her ass off too. I don’t need that in my life.” She said with an attitude. “I just need real friends in my life right now.”
“It’s funny you said that because I was just at the mall and I was trying to think of the perfect gift for my best friend in the entire world, but I drew a blank.” He laughed as he reached over into an unopened bag on their bed.
She giggled as she watched him pull out two boxes and handed her the smaller of the two. She opened it and let out a tiny screech. “Oh my gosh Nayvadius, this is gorgeous.”
“You like it? You want me to put it on you?” He asked in between her tiny kisses to his lips.
“Are you kidding? I love it. All these diamonds.” She smiled as he fastened the shiny watch onto her wrist.
He then pulled out the watch that he brought to match hers. And proudly put his wrist against hers.
“Now that’s a perfect match,” she whispered before their lips crashed and their tongues went to war.

“If you’re going to get a lot of tattoos, it’s only right that at least get what you represent, you know, you’re people around you, people you really care about, or where you’re from.” - Terry Rozier
GQ posted a video “tattoo tour” with Rozier which talks through a lot of his designs.
Some highlights:
- Rozier, his mom, and his aunts all have the same tattoo reading: “God protect me from my friends, because my enemies I can handle”
- on his left forearm, he has a rose growing out of concrete, which he explains, “I got that from Tupac”
- He has a kangaroo tattooed on his leg: “Kangaroo’s my favorite animal, been my favorite since I was young.”
- At the encouragement of his tattoo artist, Rozier tattooed part of the G in “GMB” on his leg himself, but he didn’t like the way it looked and had the artist finish it
- He was 14 years old when he got his first tattoo
