currently living in a traumatic situation, experiencing trauma actively. i happen to be disabled. i want to avoid exact specifics on my pinned,, but memory, focus, fatigue, and emotional regulation- among other things- are some symptoms i struggle with. i also live with widespread chronic pain, from a specific disorder i may or may not choose to speak on in other posts. im sure trauma exacerbates my issues. regression helps alot, more ways i can count.

i experience mild to heavy disacociation on the regular, and do not always succeed in remembering things. if i do something wrong- please kindly lmk.

in a similar vein, i can struggle with reading, and may misinterpret texts on occasion, especially if i feel nervous, tired, or rushed. please be patient.

i have to mask/ignore agere often, so there is going to be long bouts of inactivity due to this. please be patient with me. 

i apparently act atypically within my regression. do not expect me to be any specific kind of regressor, i do not fit in boxes. i do not fit so i do not sits. thx.

i am super afamilial and aromantic, this carries over into my agere. i am also asexual which? has no relevance here but #pride or whatever. the idea of a mom/dad/sibling/uncle/aunt whatever as a cg ? makes me want to puke. no offense to those that like it, i just,, have avoid that for my own sanity lol

im so glad im not alone here!! as someone who is aromantic as well as afamilial, i tend to prefer a platonic caregiverxregressor dynamic!! sometimes the idea of medical professional cg or social worker or authority figure cg also kinda hit lowkey... ha ;;;;

discussion of my specific needs and preferences on afamilial agere dynamics, and how i try to approach most friendships, especially in context of agere/permaregression! question for you guys at the end!! (feel free to skim or skip past my segment if you need/wish!!) i am sharing my details on this because i think it is important we as afamilial regressors see what it is like for others that are like us, so we can find eachother and become more inclusive in our discussions of this topic!!

cw for mentions of mental health, vague trauma history and responses, how i communicate these topics to newer but more trustworthy relationships.

i also feel the safest in these currently imaginary dynamics personally when that cg friend avoids things like pet names (honey, kiddo, baby, little boy, etc-- feels threatening somehow LOL), any sort of intentional babytalk (fudging a few words as a heehee haha thing or accident is one thing, im talkin like if alot of words r used all fudged in a sentence or dialogue, or that *specific* tone of voice.. feels condescending to me usually), and probably some more uncommon preferences, too!

for me my afamiliality is based on a very long and highly specifc trauma history with minimal conflicting experiences to clash against what that trauma has taught me, so any caring or otherwise close relationship i enter must forever he prefaced with one message: "i do not wish to splurge on telling you specifics, but i have had extensive trauma, minimal positive outside worldly contact and developed highly specific response strategies that are so ingrained into me that i do them without realizing on a several times daily basis. good and regular access to memory, feeling consistently safe and trusting of/with any single person are not currently attainable nor reasonable goals to have. these responses ive developed impact me very deeply to a level you may be unaware of and i cannot explain well all at once. i can often accidentally divulge information on traumatic moments in my past, but i often do not let onto full detail unless im having an episode of some sort. regardless, it can easily be distressing for others, and myself. if you need to ask for clarification on how to best navigate this- please ask as or after these questions come up." i try to do my best to be receptive of discussions surrounding this and any related concerns, as this is obviously a two way street. once a person is deemed trustworthy (takes awhile.) i slowly inform them of things like triggers, causes for specific trauma responses, etc so this trusted friend has better info how to treat me that i suspect less so of being used maliciously.

i really enjoy relationships that dont require me to pretend to be anything- i have a hard time regulating vocal inflections, pitch, mood and expression and prefrences overall (ive suspected a long time now that im a system. its highly probable! will likely avoid any confirmation for sure without a dx!) and it often comes off as strange in most close relationships, especially when my trauma history and mental health is largely unknown by myself or the other party! acknowledging it myself in moments where another person is pointing out differences noticed in the moment is extremely hard for me to explain to them all of that context and what i struggle with or need support with in general! these occurances of open speculation happening live almost always forces me to put up my guard rather involuntarily and very harshly! so basically relationships that allow me to show up as i am in that very instance, where i can be met where im at or atleast in range of that, with little spontaneous nitpicking of "why is your voice like that" or "when are you going to/not going to be little?" or other little things is what i personally find ideal! these questions are FINE after moments where these occurances are already ended but without being careful i can just get really triggered and mentally recede into myself, and unintentionally damage the trust!

my agere/permaregression is largely rooted as a complex trauma response and involuntary coping mechanism, usually kept as covert as possible to a largely instinctual and involuntary degree. the longer i know someone, the more i trust someone- the harder it is to hide any signs or indicators. i still often find myself masking or attempting to mask/downplay active regression around even those i do trust! it is best for me to make sure that this person i have a care and friendship based dynamic with is aware that they should match my energy with little verbal acknowledgement of any difference during these spikes!!

vintage box tv. vhs playing capabilities, either through an attatchment, or through its original hardware idc. stickerbombed to hell. on a rolly cart id keep in my closet, also stickerbombed and drawn all over, preferably a red cart, or propped up in a wheelbarrow!

themed vintage cookie jars and cake/pastry displays. id be motivated to fill them often.

vintage or weird themed pot holders. i saw a lobster claw set recently and ive been daydreaming abt them.

smoking tent for hotboxing. i want to use ink to make a sky design in the top of the tent. also a classic oil light style kids nightlight and something that makes fire sound effects. so i can go ""camping"". perhaps id even buy s'mores ice cream for the effort.

blackboard chalk wall. doesnt need to be a huge area. maybe one in each room so i can write down important stuff? and draw littl cats and bugs and dinos ofc.

an actual game closet. prioritizing 1v1 or solo games. so when a friend visits we can always play a game or five. perhaps an inclusion of video games and puzzles!!!

a comfy comfy reading nook, with a rocking chair/swing chair, lotsa cushions, a super sturdy coffee table a mini library. also a good soft lighted lamp!!

mug collection!! prioritizing difficult to break + larger sized mugs with cute designs! hanging display for these too!!

no cabinet doors on any shelves, kitchen or not. if i cant see it, it doesnt exist. delightful lace or sheer curtains instead, if needed.

stickers. all over. everything. its a sign that i wont get in trouble for making something mine.

counter in my bedroom to keep my meds, journalling supplies, memory aids, etc that i can remember to use reliably, to aid in self maintenance/management!!

massive blanket storage closet. from little baby blankets to drape over ones shoulders to massive comfortors thats bigger than my bed. knit, crochet, woven or quilted blankets would immediately take priority over any other kind, its the nostalgia. also extra pillows, including posture support pillows and neck pillows etc.

gallery wall section, for all of my art i will never sell. maybe magnetized with dumb magnets! i could make my own magnets for this!! (worm magnet worm magnet worm magnet-)

near the gallery wall i would want a decently sized studio space. heavy duty drying rack, industrial fan, good ventilation, enough desk space to surround me with all current projects and not feel crowded, a water recycling sink, enough storage to hold all my art supplies within super easy reach, and a comfy adjustable swivel chair, maybe even a footrest. also a radio, with bluetooth, and bluetooth studio designated headphones (i will get paint all over them).

a typewriter, stamps, and mailing supplies complete with wax sealing supplies so i can personally seal my letters and sign my art with them !

vintage toys!! i seem to like 80s-90s era stuff the absolute most. especially plushies!! i do also like early y2k toys too, but i grew up on handmedowns!!

Unpopular Opinion: I wouldn't show my agere blog to a child.

My blog is an expression of me and my regression and what makes me happy. Yes, it is sfw! Yes, a lot of it is themed after things for kids! But I am an ADULT, and therefore, this blog is about my adult experiences WITH those things.

The plain and simple truth is I wouldn't show a little kid this blog because they just wouldn't understand it. Agere isn't Being A Kid Again. It's reverting to that mindset, usually to cope with trauma, and even if a lot of regressors are brain kids, its just objective fact that we've been alive for longer than biokids and we have more knowledge and experience (and rights!!*)

That is the separation between age regressors and biokids. Lived experience. A 7 yr old isn't going to understand the same things as someone who regresses to 7 and that's okay. It's the same reason a group of biokids and a group of regressors probably wouldn't be friends.

A little kid isn't going to enjoy my blog because I post long educational drabbles like these, I make lists for people struggling to feel like a kid, i make dividers for people to use on their blogs, i vent, i talk about smoking weed and being chronically ill... what little kid is going to understand all of that in the context of agere?

No, a little kid won't see anything bad on my blog, but they might see adult things like this post, because when it comes down to it this blog is MY experience. It just won't be the experience of a bio kid!! It isn't catered to people with only 7 years of experience!! I have ~19 years experience BEING 7 and that's different yk?

I didnt make this blog for kids!! I made it for other REGRESSORS and people with similar experiences!

I wish more agere art didn't "shrink" or deage characters, bc that's not what agere really is. You can't magically become baby sized, I see more art of just babies tagged agere then I do of characters the same height, physical age, ect., I even notice it in fanfics where it reads as if the character is physically smaller. Characters that shouldnt be able to be picked up by a character that is canonically shorter/smaller then them. No offense to people who draw/write agere like that- it just takes me out of the art and story, or even makes me uncomfortable sometimes

🦇 The cruel vampire that doesn't blink at draining dry the town neighbouring their castle and terrorizing hundreds, but coddles their young fledglings and holds their hand through discovering their own vampirism. Bat-flight lessons very gently directed like learning to ride a bike without training wheels.

👻 The malevolent ghost attached to the stuffed toy of an oblivious baby/toddler/regressor who thinks the big floaty guy who throws furniture at their tormented friends and family is hilarious.

🤡 A terrifying monster with a grin of 3-dozen razor sharp teeth that wears a cardigan and cute circular glasses with a chain to the daycare drop-off line, or while bringing their new human pet/child/friend off at work, but isn't afraid to flash those teeth in a wide grin when they catch sight of the school bully or the office Karen. They revel in causing the nightmares that will haunt a wrong-doer into their 80's.

🐉 The dragon deciding a town or specific people are a part of his hoard. Violently protective of them, makes sure their town is safe, comfortable and maintained, but refuses to let them leave because the wide world is too dangerous. His favourite knight!? How could he ever let them go out there!? Do you know how many wizards are out there just waiting to turn them into a toad!?

The Creepypasta and FNAF fandoms have this on lock for agere stuff. I love love love when some ageless being or horror monster is like "aww! you're so cute! you're my baby and I'll eviscerate anything that dares touch a hair on your head :)"

Anti-consumerist regression ideas! Because in a world made worse by capitalism, you shouldn't feel like you need to rely on it to cope with it!

Instead of focusing a lot on what you've got around you, focus on how you're interacting with it! Remember when you were little and would hold cups with both hands, or hold writing tools differently? You can still be little even if the things around you are "big"

Reduce, reuse, recycle! There's a lot of resources online on making crafts and toys and art for kids out of reused things like cereal boxes or #6 plastic (this is the kind you can make shrinky dinks out of!)

Go to the library! You can get a lot of books and movies for free instead of paying, and no one will look at you weirdly for checking out kids books! (if you want a cover story, you can say you're babysitting a cousin, or doing a project on children's books)

Get things secondhand! There's a lot of things you can get secondhand especially if you want things from your own childhood years. Thrift stores are a great option because you can get things like water bottles, containers, utensils, toys, blankets, and all sorts!

Play pretend and use your imagination! Almost anything can be made more interesting for a kid once you get the imagination involved. What if you're a secret spy? What if you were super tiny exploring the area around you?

Regression can be a super important thing and I hope this is helpful
