Corinthia began to walk around the room, her hands brushing the surrounding objects, carvings, leaving trails in the dust. “Good, good. I once had fledglings like that boy, but they didn’t last long. Now I think I have perfected my choosing of whom to give the gift to.”
She stiffened up at the the memory of their first meeting. “He turned up to my establishment while I was away, broke my shower and then tried to sleep and / or eat my girls.” Turning back to face Edward, she grinned viciously. “Which was actually hilarious, that he’d been so presumptuous. My best presented him to me on my arrival home, but as I said, my father is humouring him, and so I obey.”
Crossing the space once again, she closed the gap between them. “But really, is there no way I can make up for it? And even if you insist otherwise, I am queen here, your host.” She eyed him back, before lifting a slender eyebrow. “Men, women, boys, girls… Anyone for anything.” Extending her hand, she smiled. “Corinthia Cruor, at your service.”
She was a beautiful woman, and he found himself watching her as she wandered around the room. Was there any shame in that, really? The vampire enjoyed beauty in all of its forms, since he felt like he had absolutely none of it. "Funny--" he mused, "--I've never made another one of my kind in all the time I've been around." There were several reasons for that, of course. He didn't need someone following him around, nor did he feel like releasing another one of him into the world. He knew that would be absolutely disastrous. And maybe he hadn't found someone worthy of his blood, truth be told. "You really do need to be picky with that. Can't give it to a fool like that," he grumbled with a flick of his eyes upward.
He noticed how she cringed and hoped to the Lord above, if there even was one, that he hadn't brought about some awful memory for the vampiress. "Lord, that's indeed cringe-worthy," he hissed with a slight recoil. She was a powerful one, he could tell, and a fledgling overstepping her bounds seemed a great sin on their behalf. "Your father is an interesting man, then," he affirmed with a nod of his head.
As she came closer, brows arched and he smiled down at her. "Well--" a pause, and then he took her hand. He kissed the back of it. "Edward Vipon, glad to be receiving it. Would I be overstepping my boundaries to merely ask for a night of your time?" questioned he, with dark, charming brown eyes and a little grin.
