I live in the Netherlands, so, as a stereotype, people expect me to use drugs (drugs is also illegal here ppl, some drugs like weed are just tolerated by the police in small quantities).
I live in the south, so it luckily isnt as bad here but still. People are like, why dont you try it? Because... it has negative effects and... I dont want to???? People see me as boring for never having used drugs, never having smoked and hating alcoholic drinks. EVERYTIME i feel like i have to explain myself
For me, its mostly for not drinking alcohol. I JUST DONT LIKE THE TASTE OF MOST DRINKS (also its expensive as fuck and bad for your health). While i was younger, people thought i was weird. Im almost 23 now and there is more acceptance. But now, instead of boring, people ask me: ohhh, you are doing it for your health/ trying to lose weight??? And im like,, uhhh yeah kinda, i mean it IS beter to not consume alcohol... but thats not the main reason???
Dont get me wrong, other people should do what they want to do. Alcohol/smoking/drugs is bad for your health, but so is sugar and i have a sweet tooth, so yea??? Its just that its exhausting for someone in their college years to constantly having to explain why they dont want to do drugs/siggaretes/alcohol because it is becoming the norm.
