⋆   after leaving the horde, the tension between her and her former  best friend escalated to levels she never would have imagined. while on the run with her new teammates and adapting to her legacy - it still has admittedly been difficult for her to just erase her feelings fears about her.  in her field of vision, there is no sign of her target.

it’s irritating that her mission includes seemingly endless days following her former best friend, the traitor, the bane of her existence, around hoping that one of her many schemes will separate Adora from the sword she’s been bound to. That’s her goal and nothing will deter her from the task at hand.

“Believe it or not, I’m not following you and I’m NOT hiding. All I want is the sword.”

impatiently weaving through familiar hallways, the nobody approaches no. xiii’s bedroom - barraging the door with a flurry of deafening knocks. once the door cracked open, larxene immediately pushes past him; making the extra effort to run an electric shock against his shoulder. ever since their level of acquaintance to sort-of friends to i’m a little more interested in you more than a friend - axel has been giving her radio silence. which admittedly irritated her beyond means. 

“hey moron. can you turn off that garbage called music. some guy is coming over and i wanna make sure we have a good time. if ya know what i’m sayin.”

At first he ignores her instant knocking, fully intending to spark her ire even before pausing his admittedly loud music and cracking the door open to meet her gaze. Axel shrugs and throws his hands in the air, a smirk stretching his lips and as he saunters through the doorway past the woman he looks back over his shoulder with a chuckle.

“as if anybody you bring over here is going to have a good time, he’ll probably end up in my room doing jagerbombs again.” not like that ever happened before, but alas it would upset Larxene nonetheless.

despite the amount of times she attempts to spark a light up his (ass) to make a move; she continues to wear the disgust written across her features. if there was one thing larxene didn’t like - it was begging but on the contrary, she certainly is curious enough to entertain this new challenging level between them. “yeah, right. if a guy waltzed in here, you might bore him to death. or even worse, kill him with your sarcasm.” the idea of a guy running into axel’s room after a quick rendez-vous seemed incredibly unlikely. doesn’t he know that she can wrap any guy around her finger? maybe not any guy. 

“do you know how irritating you are? i feel sorry for the girl that has to listen to your –” inching closer towards the male closing the distance between them, she traces a finger under his chin, eyeing his lips. “whining.”

he takes his time responding, stopping to hunch over and retrieve a water bottle from a low table nearby and only after taking a long drink does Axel finally reply. Again knowing full well how to push Larxene’s buttons, if anything made the seemingly endless days go by faster it was messing with the other inhabitants of their prison.

“I’ve been trying to kill you since the day you moved in, so my research concludes that all dudes are safe from my sarcasm.” Again with the water bottle, dragging the back of his hand across his mouth and sighing heavily. “I feel bad for me having to listen to you, thankfully there’s no girls around here to nag me. My whining is nothing compared to the symphonies of despair you continue to club me over the head with.”

  she watches quietly as he begins to pack his bags - clutter of books, notes. she sighs, running to **block **the exit **before **he could advance further. 

❝ ishida ! you’ve been working non stop for days. why don’t you take a break ! come on, drop your stuff. tell ichigo you’ll see him later. ❞ if there was one thing she wanted to prevent was uryu exhausting himself out by the end of the quarter. before he could utter a response to protest, she swings her purse around her shoulder - shooing’ him outside.

   “. . . Right, I’ll let him know.”   

   The Quincy exhales heavily, brows tightening as he drops the heavy bag back to the floor. It almost feels as if she’s telling him he’s too weak to continue pushing himself, but he knows that’s not true -- what she says comes from a good place, it’s still hard to hear though. Before he has any time to dwell on it further she’s herding him out the door, barely giving him time to stop and pull his shoes on before stepping outside. His head tilts to the side as he considers her statement for a moment. While he’s never really cared for grocery shopping taking a small break does sound k ind of nice

   “I bet he would appreciate that.”

   He trails off, already adjusting the frames on the bridge of his nose after taking them out of her hands -- a thin line of a smile spreads his lips and Uryu rolls his shoulders before moving across the room to pack up the rest of his school books. Studying for finals inbetween fighting Hollows made staying awake hard for him, at least someone had possessed the decency to remove his glasses once he’d fallen asleep.
