Most hispanics pierce their babies ears, I got my ears pierced as a baby and so have my cousins. It’s really not that bad

I agree with @pixelecstasy. It’s not even just Hispanics, I’m biracial (black and white) and I got mine done and I wasn’t even 1! Yeah I’m sure it hurt, but of course you don’t remember. And I’m glad my mother did get it done at such a young age too bc now, I’d be too chicken to do it. My sisters never got theirs done as a baby, and now they’re too scared even though they’d love to have their ears pierced so… Yeah. That’s that.

I’m Filipina and Black, and it’s tradition in my household, along with a haircut at two years. Grayson got hers pierced as well.

She cried for five seconds, and stopped once I handed her a plush. Literally the same technique I used every time she had to get her legs stabbed by needles at her check ups.

Getting holes put into fatty tissue at two is no different than at twelve pain wise. Plus if your child decides they don’t like them, they could always just stop wearing earrings. As I have, and Grayson has.

I’m black and everyone I know got their ears pierced when they were babies. lol. And like everyone else said, thank god my mom pierced mine as a baby because I’m too chicken to get my second holes.

It actually hurts less for babies because the cartilage in their earlobes hasn’t hardened, because there actually is a very thin layer of cartilage in the lobe. Not only that, if parents care for the piercings, they won’t close as easily as you age. I can still remember how badly it hurt getting my ears pierced the first time because of the cartilage, and it only gets worse the further up you go (I have three holes, plus my actual cartilage piercing), but everyone I know that got them done as babies don’t remember it at all.

That being said, I also got both my second and third holes re-pierced because they closed from not having earrings in them for so long at one point, and I’d do it a third time if I had to, so @monotoned-enthusiasm, you should think about doing it! Just get them done at a real place, and not somewhere that uses a piercing gun, because the guns are actually really destructive to the ears. If you can find a good tattoo artist/piercer in your area, they know what they’re doing and they don’t hurt nearly as much as the piercing guns do. They’re also cleaner and safer and the atmosphere is a lot better than being in a mall with a bunch of people all talking and kids screaming and stuff.
