Please, read this!!! Charity Mania is not legit!
I was thinking about donating to Charity Mania and I thought I’d do some research before hand because I don’t really trust gofundme. Here is their gofundme page. https://www.gofundme.com/charitymania
I contacted their certified charity Mental Health America and to my absolute HORROR I got this email back. (ABOVE)

I feel sick about this and I have a hunch who is behind it even though they remain “unnamed”. And that is a red flag if the person does not want to share their name. I believe the person doing this charity is also the person who is running the FOB MANIA tour project. https://maniatourproject.tumblr.com/
They are constantly promoting this charity on their tumblr and twitter pages and have a mass following!
Please, help me report this immediately. This charity has already taken $1,360 from people who believed to be donating to mental health research. Contact gofundme, Fall Out Boy, DCD2, and the members of the band immediately! This isn’t right!
In the future, do not donate to a charity without checking to see if it is legit!

I’m going to be the Devils advocate and say that this person raising funds doesn’t know/didn’t know that they had to or even could partner with mha like this? This is likely the first time they’ve ever done a fundraiser of this scale and are still working out the how-tos.
Both from the “Official” ManiaCharity tumblr page. They state they are working closely with them, yet MHA knows nothing about it.
SO I am sorry, first of all, that i haven’t been on Tumblr in forever. This has been a hard project to run all by myself. That’s not the issue right now.
The issue is that we are being accused of stealing money. I want to assure you that I have not seen ANY of the money. To prove it to you, I have the window that comes up when I specifically go to “withdraw” money from the charity.
That’s all I get. That our funds are benefitting MHA.
So, I am now worried that gofundme isn’t providing the funds directly there. I have sent them an email– proof here.

Someone has contacted Mental Health America with the question as to whether they are paired with Gofundme, and they replied back that they aren’t. My fund is directed to go to Mental Health America. If you aren’t paired with them, how can I guarantee that the money I’ve raised is going to go to MHA?
When they respond, I will let you know.

Can’t find the other receipt at the moment. BUT as you can see I got confirmation from both gofundme and PAYPAL that said I had donated to Mental Health America (the PayPal one is convincing to me).

I am going to keep you updated but basically if gofundme is scamming you, it’s scamming me. I am an amateur fundraising who has not seen a cent of your money. I work two jobs and live on my own by my own money. So please do not think I am stealing from you. I’m literally at work in the bathroom typing this so sorry for confusion or rushed stuff.
Gofundme just got back to me. MHA isn’t affiliated with gofundme but with PayPal, which is why their email stated that.
So it’s through PayPal giving. Which explains my PayPal receipt.

Are you still going to promote a charity that only shows you a portion of it’s donation? And why are you (tour mania) reblogging the receipts from Charity Mania? Why are you so quick to defend them? Shouldn’t you hold back and wait to see if this is a legit charity or not? Since you aren’t affiliated with them and all.
(And btw you two reply almost one after the other on the time stamps That’s a pretty quick reaction.)
