SILENT FILM 2020

This was a requirement for our finals in our Film class. We were tasked to produce a 1-minute silent film with our chosen story and genre. To be honest, I was not too confident with this one but I was surprised that our professor liked it.

Storyline: Aki was not stealing glances at Martina because of malicious intentions. He does not want Martina but wants to be like Martina. Not everything we see is what we understand.

Kudos to my friends who participated in our activity without hesitation!

FIRST COLLAGE 2020

I remember the first editing experience I had. It was just me and my little brother's iPad, I would put pictures together in the editing app Picsart. I made this for our Magazine issue for our PR course. The theme was "Body Positivity" and the collage represents that all bodies are feminine bodies. It's to break women's body stereotypes.

HAPPYBOX MEDIA INC. (OJT PROJECT 2021)

I used to make carousel posts for days! This was one of my works during my training in HappyBox Media. This was for their segment "My Happy Shopper". Since our OJT was online, we weren't able to attend physical meetings or film/video shootings because it was forbidden during the lockdown. For us students who are only available online, we were tasked to edit, research, transcribe, and contact/search for leads. It was an experience!

FOR THE LOVE OF ART CAROUSELS

This was the carousel post I made for our passion project required in one of our subjects in Miriam College. The group and I opted to help freelance artists in the Philippines since there is an existing issue regarding the skills and capabilities of artistic individuals. For more context, in the Philippines, Art Majors are not seen to be in demand or prioritized. This is a small token of appreciation action for all of our fellow Picassos out there.

In our Digital Imaging class, our professor gave us the opportunity to edit anything in Photoshop. The deal is to include a person and a story. I was going for a false reality of life. I was inspired by the thought of having multiple universes--Multiverse. And yeah, this was the result.

DIGITAL CREATIVES CHRISTMAS POSTCARDS 2020

I was also a former member of Digital Creatives, an organization in Miriam College. We made this in participation in the Christmas Season. Oh, to be able to use these again.

#1: Among Us Theme

I decided to create an Among Us-inspired postcard because it was the trendiest game of that time. Plus, I was addicted to Among Us before.

#2: Home Alone Theme

Of course, who would miss out on the opportunity to create a Home Alone-inspired postcard when it's Christmas? Home Alone is one of the iconic Christmas shows of all time. It was a must!

MCTV SEGMENT TITLE CARD

This was the first title card I made for a segment we had during the days I was still part of the organization Miriam College Television. The segment was called "Midnight Munchies" which was supposed to be operated by me but there was a change of plans. Yet, I am proud of my work. I think I achieved the retro bar lights theme.

There were days when I am drained out of ideas. Here's a tip for beginners: create anime cover arts. It looks cool and it's pretty easy to edit since the characters are already animated.

FIRST PHOTOSHOP EDIT 2020

This was the first photo that I edited on Adobe Photoshop. The goal is to make it look as if the picture was taken in a studio. Wasn't convincing but was a good try for a first-timer.

GRADIENT ART 2021

Back in 2021, gradient art design was a trend! During that year, most individuals were talking about good and bad energies which is the main idea for much of gradient art. For some, they receive great energy from hues or colors which is the goal that I was aiming for with the ones I created. Here are my quick edits for gradient art!

#1: Be the energy that you want to receive

My inspiration for this one is very basic. The warm colors that I used have a connection with the feeling of strength and comfort which explains the text.

#2: It's not all bad

I believe that the colors incorporate well with the text. It happy-go-lucky was a gradient art, they would look like this.

#3: Prioritize Yourself

I made this art specifically for me. I used more cool tones than warm because with the context of the art, it looks more fitting. I created this to constantly remind myself (& others as well) that we must come first.

#4: Accept the love you deserve

I wanted the heart to look as if its color is bleeding or is softly fading off to visually express the feeling of receiving the right kind of love. For others, they feel butterflies in their stomach but when you are truly in love, it feels as if your chest is warm with a melting sensation.

MINSAN MUSIC VIDEO 2020

Back in 2020, we were tasked to film a music video in one of our production classes in alignment with the new normal and lockdown. It was my first time ever producing my own music video so there was a mix of excitement and worry. Excited because I get to earn more experience in the field of filming, writing, and editing (even acting hehe). On the other hand, I was worried because again, I had never done this before! I also have limited tools and resources but I was extremely glad that I made it work.

Looking back, I can't help it but smile and be proud of myself. The activity wasn't a surprise because, in the back of my mind, I already knew that one day we will be asked to film something. But right now, it feels so surreal that I manage to create a music video. To be honest, I completely forgot about it but the way memories hit me all at once right now gives me the happy chills.

It's surprising how time flies so fast. One minute you're panicking about a video and right now I'm thinking to myself, "I did that?" Documented hard work is really something else. I didn't manage to document myself during the process of creating the video but I managed to keep it. I found it and I'm so happy to share it. Keep in mind, that it was my first time. I'm not that skilled yet but this is a golden moment for me.
