“Do you ever wish we were back at Hogwarts?”

Louis tilted his head at his sister’s question. He hadn’t expected a question like that. He didn’t know if it was a trick or something. “A lot of the time I think things would be a lot more fun.” He laughed lightly. “Do you?”

“Oh Louis.” Victoire let out a fond sigh at her brother, her lips pulling up into a smile. “You can do whatever you put your mind to but that is not the point. The point is that you should do something that you enjoy.” It hurt her that her brother felt like he had to look at what others were doing for him to have any idea of what he should do. “What is it you want to do, mon petite? Never mind everyone else, what is it that you enjoy? If it is dragon’s or writing, so be it, I will support you. I just don’t want you to feel like it is something you should do because others are.”

“How do I know if I’ll enjoy them without trying them?” Louis pondered, tilting his head. Who’s to say that something he enjoyed at school, he would enjoy at work. Or whether a pastime would become tiresome if it was something he was required to do? Thinking about what to spend the rest of his future doing seemed like a lot of work, and a lot to think about. And, he was doing a very poor job at the moment. “I don’t know what I want to do.” He admitted. It seemed so easy for most people to just jump into careers they’d known they wanted to do their entire lives. And yet he’d stopped in his tracks, despite the fact he was probably more than capable of doing anything he put his mind to. “Maybe it is dragons... Or writing... Or something different. How did you pick?”

“I don’t think I will ever learn to love it. How am I supposed to learn to love something that makes me feel like death?” She pushed up gently onto her elbows to look up at him, another groan slipped from her lips. “Feel free. I’m going to pass out so I can’t stop you.” Thea teased with a small laugh and collapsed back down. “Seriously though, how am I ever going to join the big leagues in Quidditch if I can’t even keep up with running.”

“You won’t know until you try more?” He suggested, but his voice wasn’t exactly full of confidence. He wasn’t much for running, but he saw the benefits of it even so. Suppose it would help not to push herself too hard. Louis took the spot on the floor beside her with a light chuckle, before frowning slightly at her final comment. “Has Quidditch included a running element now?” He joked with a smile.

Teddy looked up as he heard the male’s words, a small smile tugged at his lips. “Yes, I think I did.” He replied chuckling as he shook his head. “The worst thing about it is that this isn’t the first time it’s happened.” The male crossed his arms, glaring over at the cat who continued to sit in front of him as it ate the muffin. “You’d think it would run off with it but no it just sits there. I think he’s just trying to tease me.” 

“You mean he’s played you before?” Louis laughed harder at the wizard’s confession. Somehow, it was much funnier knowing that this cat seemed to have taken a liking to stealing his food. “He clearly wants you to know how delicious your own food is.” He looked down at the cat with a smile.

The cat didn’t look starved for anything, but it still stared at him from where he stood in front of the shop. It had large eyes, and it didn’t blink even once. It made him uncomfortable. Teddy had a kneazle of his own, but this once seemed incredibly focused on the object in his hand. A muffin, to be exact. With a sigh of defeat ( this mental test of wills was grating), he bent down and let the little beast indulge himself in his morning breakfast. “Spoiled beast.”

Louis watched the scene unfold from a distance. The unspoken game that Teddy Lupin seemed to be playing with the cat. And, of course, the cat had it in the bag. A quiet laugh passed through Louis’ lips as he watched the man pass a muffin (that quite frankly looked delicious) to the cat. “Did you just get played by an animal?” He asked, a hint of laughter in his voice.

“I really hate running.” Amalthea groaned as she collapsed to the floor and tried to get control of her breathing and wonder why she had thought that this was a good idea to begin with. “Do muggles really do this for fun? I feel like I’m dying.”

Louis laughed at the blonde’s new revelation. “I think the point is that you learn to love it.” He said, panting along with her, but managing to remain semi-composed in comparison. “Do you want company down there?” He asked, simultaneously gently tossing a water bottle her way.

“You’d be the best teacher there ever is, mon petite.” Victoire smiled as she ruffled her little brother’s hair knowing that it would annoy him but unable to break out of old habits. There would never be a time where Victoire wouldn’t support or help a member of her family, especially when it came to her siblings. “Do you enjoy writing? Ma Mere would never allow it Louis. You’ve seen Uncle Charlie’s scars.” Her brows furrowed in concern at the mere thought of him getting hurt.

A smile curled on the edges of Louis’ lips at his sister’s comment. Though he immediately forced it into a frown when she ruffled his hair. “Vic.” He groaned, pulling away from her and running a hand through his hair to put it into a semi-decent state. “What would I be best at?” He asked, pondering the idea. His grades were pretty good in most classes -- it was the common sense he had lacked. And there were a lot of classes he’d liked too, though perhaps that had more to do with the company than the subject. “Hm.” Louis looked deep in thought before: “I don’t think I’ve ever tried really writing.” Writing had been fine for class, boring but fine. He’d never done it as a hobby. “But it works for Dominique!” 

“Well, what if I was more careful?” Sure, he didn’t know how careful Uncle Charlie was, but that was besides the point. “Ma Mere wouldn’t have to worry then.” He flashed a toothy smile at his oldest sister. “And they say scars are attractive.” He added with a laugh.

“You think I’d be a good teacher? I'm good with kids -- I think.” Louis asked, knowing full well that the answer was no, and even if it wasn’t, he highly doubted Hogwarts would have him back to teach after his track record as a student. He barely left any time for them to respond before: “Or maybe I could write a column! Hm, but what would I write about?” He paused for a moment, before jolting up in his seat. “Dragonkeeping! I’d be good at that. And I bet they’re not even that dangerous. Uncle Charlie does it!” Looking for something he enjoyed was beginning to seem impossible. Everyone else had their 'thing' already, but he just didn't.
